(not hardiplank lap siding)
Has anyone put this on anything. I'm thinking of residing with it, and want the stucco look without the stucco rot and stucco work. Can you see the seams? Will you run into the same water-retaining problems with this because it is in panel form?

I used the lap siding on my shop - turned out real nice. The panel is a completely different animal. You'll have to do something to cover the joints and most likely you'll want to cover the fasteners as well - think board and batten siding. It's like putting up drywall. They want fasteners about every eight inches in both directions.

I put the panels on my garage,it's O.K. on there but when I do the house with it I'll use lap. If you use panels on the house definitely plan your seams and go board and batten. I caulked my joints and don't like the way it looks. This summer I'll probably but another layer on and trim it flush with a razor blade. If you use a circular saw with a Hardi blade to cut it wear a good dust mask. Hardi's web site has some tips for installing it.

I've got both, the Lap on the body of my house and the panels on the gables with Mira Tec trim for bats My panels were only primed don't think they come colored from the factory. TB

One other thing. They say you can cut it with a carbide blade. After going through two of those I bought a diamond blade which was about the same cost as the two carbide blades... Best to just go diamond from the start.
And definitely wear a dust mask! That crap is nasty!
