I'm thinking about getting one of the Harbor Freight 2.5 Ton HD Long frame floor jacks?

Has anyone owned a HF floor jack? What do you think?

I own two of the HF 2.5 ton long-frame floor jacks. I bought one on sale and then ran across the 2nd marked way down as an "open box" display model about a year after the 1st. I love these jacks - they're great. You can't beat the lift height. They are of the same quality as the rest of the orange Central Hydraulics HF floor jacks. They aren't top notch, but get the job done. I haven't had any problems with mine.

Go get one today or tomorrow and use the 20% coupon I posted on another msg thread that expires 2/2/06.

I buy similar jacks (not HF, but likely made by the same folks). We use them day in and day out. They last about a year and we throw them away (actually, pile them in the back of the shop to harvest the steel from them :flipoff2: ).

In home shop use, they should be just fine.

I have one of those but mine does not go up anymore. I have a high lift Lincoln also but it does not hold a lift so I guess it needs rebuilding. The last time I tried to lower it the linkage U joints broke so it needs mending. The only thing you have to watch out for is to not side load them at all. This means no lifting on steep driveways or pulling a car sideways when the jack is more than 1/3 up. There is a ton of stress on these designs so they can get bent very easily. Both of mine are bent slightly from abuse over the years. Watch your back when you lift these into a truck. They are defineity back breakers.
