Was wondering if anyone has any pics of 203/300 doubler combo? Also how do you like it? Any draw backs? Is it possible to run a 203/300 doubler in a stock WB CJ or YJ with a SBC with a TH350 or SM465? Also does the adapter mate with long and short shaft Dana 300s?

-thanks, matt

Had it. Loved it. No pics. Used Dirtybird's kit. Can't beat it for the price (IMO). I don't think you are going to use it on a stock wheelbase CJ or YJ. I had it in an XJ, and I ended up moving the rear axle back 8", and still had to use a CV.
Oh, and the kit doesn't care about D300 output shafts. It DOES care if you have the goofy Scout D300 bolt pattern.

I am running this set up and there is no way your gonna fit it in a stock CJ/YJ. I am 104" and working with a 19.5" long rear shaft. I do love it though.

I am running a 203 300 setup. OTT built the adapters for me. I like all the options it gives. I do not think you are going to fit it in a stock WB.

I think for the cost you should just go with an Atlas case.

I have been thinking about doing something like this... I have a 115 inch wheel base so I think I should have the room.

I will have to research it but I dont think anyone makes an adapter for the 203 or 205 to go behind a SM420...

Right now I am running the Novac adapter with a 300. And I already have the big shafts and 4 to 1 in the 300 so it would be a great setup...

I ran it in my YJ with 100" wheelbase. 21" rear CV shaft and a 45"front d-shaft. Only way I got away with it was I ran a 2.5L and moved the engine forward 4". I could have ran a 98" wheelbase. I didnt run much lift, SOA with soft ass waggy springs. You could easily fit it in a CJ8. Or a shorter wheelbase CJ7or YJ with a 2.5 or 4.3L chevy moved forward 4-6".

the 203/adapter/short D300 is 19.5". I ran mine with the 203 clocked flat to the passenger side and the D300 is flipped almost flat to the drivers side. It fit nicely in the YJ tub with a 1" body lift. The bottom of the cases were flush with my frame rails. I made a xmember and ran a falt skid.

If you add an adapter to the tranny that gets longer. I had it bolted directly to a ax15.

I absolutely loved it. Twin sticks, tons of gearing options and IMO totally buiild proof behind a 4 or 6cyl. Actually its the only thing I plan to keep since I am parting out the jeep.

I emailed Stazwork about running the 203 between my SM420 and Dana300. I am waiting on a responce...

if you have the 420/300 adapter you can use a dodge np 203 and then put the 300 behind it

I have a SBC/TH350/NP203/D300 in my YJ/CJ. About 102" wheel base (rear stretched 4.5". I have a 24" rear CV shaft, SOA on stock waggies, NP203 is clocked 180 degrees and the D300 is perfectly flat. I haven't had time to build the skid yet, but the crossmember is above the bottom of the frame rails.

My measurements and info on my set up was researched in this thread:

http://forum.neow.net/index.php?showtopic=31390&st=30

MY SBC/TH350/NP203/D300 from fan to rear output is 74.875" long.

Thanks for the pics HeepJeep. I really like the set up.

I wonder how well my 300 will hold up with the extra torque and my 42's?

I dig the Old School Unimog you were wheeling with and your rig too.

Have you had any issues with your front driveshaft being that long?

Hahah if you look through the pics in one of those albums you will find the front shaft pics. I had slapped in a shaft I had kicking around from a waggy. 1310 greasable fittings, yeah I busted them with the 38's... I have 5.13's so not too worried about the D300 holding up when I jump to 42's, probably just 32 spline outputs if anything... Length of the drive shaft wasn't too bad, just have to be aware of it, I want to lower the rig about 4" so it will be less of an issue at some point. And yeah, that mog is one sick machine.

I got a hold of dirtybird and he told me I would have a better setup running the ford 203 and change the input shaft to the Dodge input and he said it was not very expensive. I think when I get back after my March trip I will start collecting the parts to to the doubler.

Speed,
I have a Ford 203 case and a dodge input that I do not need.

I did the reverse, I needed the ford 203 input and the Dodge case...

PM me if you are interested..

Thanks for the Pics. Whos adapter is that between the Dana 300 and 203? It looks thick and blocky...

I guess I should have found out how much longer the is going to make my combo. I guess what I meen is, how long is the adapter and the 203. Im sure I have plenty of driveshaft to give but the rear also flexes a lot too. So this is still a caution... I should be fine since the rear is a reverse cut...

Jason, I am all ears on your parts...

i am going to be running this set up. i am running a 999 203 d300 with 39s. got parts for cheap and should hold up and work well behind my 4L. now if i could just find the threads that show the best way is to adapt the 999 to the 203 because i know there isnt much involved i will be set

I have a (I think 79) Dodge t-case it is 23 spline input, I was gonna use it behind an aw4 but I changed plans to a v8 and th400 with a differnt 203.

I have the whole case but youd only want the gear box. $150 obo? Its like 85Lbs to ship I think.

Im running hte JEDs (stazworks) doubler 203-205 and it fits tight with my 108 wheelbase, I moved my motor far back, and the th400 is a long tranny, a power glide, or 420, 465 if you can mate them to the 203 would be better option. An electric fan to reduce space and move the motor forward anything less then 105 I would think will be tight. I have to run a 10in limit strap on my short 24in drive shaft.
