Mustard Dog 03-31-2002, 05:07 PM Dude, whats up with this? Your first post, you don't bother to make an intro, then you post something that should be in the For Sale forum:rolleyes:
BTW, welcome newbie:flipoff2: :flipoff2:
smabry 03-31-2002, 05:14 PM Well yes... I suppose such errors do scream! "HEY I"M NEW HERE!" But I figured what the hey... anyways! Hi! I'm Shaun! I'm a student at Virginia Tech and I'm double majoring in Spanish and Geography! I'm just about to finish up restoration on my 1974 FJ40. I love it... it is the bane of my existence! I think that basically says it all!

Welcome Newbie:flipoff2:
I my opinion if your selling for retail,..... post it in the "for sale" section.
If your selling to your fellow cruiser heads for a reasonable deal, then post it here.
Which is yours?.... retail?.... or a good/fair deal?
Mr McGee 03-31-2002, 06:18 PM doesnt matter--you should still put it in for sale and at least link to it (like reuben) this is tech not for sale....put it in for sale--i know when i want to buy something i usually look there.
welcome :flipoff2:

Hey Mr. McGoo.. semi newbie.... this quote is from Jeff " Dog Walker"the moderator of this board.
"I've said it many times in the past, it's ok by me to post any for sale or wanted Lancruiser related items on this forum as long as it does'nt get to carried away. I doubt it will anytime soon though.
My goal with this forum is to maintain a fun and informative source of Lancruiser information to be shared by many of Landcruiser owners. " jeff ( Dog Walker )
Lets not get carried away with the na-na-na-na-na he did something bad. I like this forum the way it is. Not everyone looks in the for sale section. Hell, an ad gets buried in a day there! You probably see a contradiction with my post suggesting he go to the for sale section. I was politely trying to tell him the seat covers were priced high imho. $265 retail and $245 for a deal????? I should have just said "your too high" and then I would of got you to police my reply again..na-na-na he shouldn't ..bla-bla. Don't sweat the petty stuff K?
Until I hear different I'll stay with the moderators suggestion.
OK to post wanted and for sale here.

just listen
im not here to argue im just sayin--if i put a for sale ad up, and you put one up, and somebody else, then other newbies will think its ok and then they will put one up too....im just tryin to say at least put it in for sale. jeff says that hes ok for some--well if we didnt let smabry know that, then he would think its ok and he would continue to put more on and then more. Im just makin it known to him and didnt mean to offend anybody by doing so.
oh, and you dont have to rip on people to get your point across. I get the picture, just politely tell me to screw off, and correct me next time.
yes, i am a semi-newbe, but then again, so were you.

Sounds like he is taking his FJ40 down through Central & South America while looking at rock formations! :D
FYI... on pricing, if you paid $300 for something, and want more than $150 for it.... skip the POR forsale board, and stuff it on eBay. Heck, I just take stuff and pass it along. I know someone who bought $900 worth of 35" MTR's... sold it for $650 (heck of a deal), but then that person realized it wasn't going to work for that and passed them along for $500... heck of a deal. Yep, kept them in the cruiser family. Hopefully if I ever need any spares on the trail the good karma will come back to me! :p
Now only if I could sell my 3FE rebuilt engine! :D $1750 for the complete long block, but zero nibbles. Most likely pull the head and see if I can really bolt it up on a 2F (keep hearing stories, but haven't actually seen it).
