I have a question. I bought an fj40 frame a while back, and the seller had agreed to send me the title to the vehicle and never did. Now I didn't really need the title since I already have one for the vehicle (the current frame is very rusted in the rear) I'm buiding up right now, but I had wanted it just in case anyone ever had any questions. My question is what should I do?

I have the frame but I am a little nervous that the VIN #'s not matching will come back to bite me in the a$$ somehow. Have any of you been in a similiar situation? What did you do? Is it possible to legally get my current VIN # placed on the frame I bought ?

I thought if the vehicle were to show up as not being stolen this may be possible. Who would I contact about doing this? Thanks for any help.

I wouldn't give it a 2nd thought. there is no reason for the cops to check the frame. If U want to cut and weld the #'s on there, just cut them off both and swap the good ones, do it nice and u won't ever be able to tell.

How well do you get along with the local sherrifs dept.? If it was here in Mt. could have the vehicle inspected after it was built or get a builders title since you are basicly building it. I would call the dept. and ask them what you should do I don't think you would have any trouble by asking

When I bought vehicles from out of state, I had to get the VINs inspected, and NOT ONCE has an officer ever looked at the frame ID #s.:flipoff2: :D
