Also i added up the number of feet of pipe I will need to build the cage i drew up and i`m at 70+feet dose that sound excesive? THANKS for anny help you can give. Are you looking at a bench sit or buckets. if it is a bench sit cut the lower half off and built your own to fit between the front of the wheel wells.

I'm doing the same thing hopefully next week, we picked up all the tubing last week. I got 160 ft of 1 5/8 and were gonna have to get more! But that to do bumpers, sliders, and cage! I got a rear seat out of an older heep, but am looking for subaru brat rears, I really don't want a heep part on my truck!

Look at a 4Runner or two. That should give U an idea. I know that there are seats that will fit between the wheel wells, U will just need to find a set, and make the frame work so that they will mount. Shouldn't be too hard, just time consuming.

Oh, have U used the searce feature?

This is one conversion (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=28407&highlight=rear+seat) that was posted in here.

Or you could just buy my Trekker and have seats for 4. Has a canopy, V8, auto tranny, and 36" tires. You know you want it :D

Try a jeep wrangler or samurai rear bench seat

A trekker is the pre 83 bodystyle converted into a "4 runner" by winnabego and some other company before the actual 4 runner existed!! They are cool trucks, wish I had one. I saw his on the for sale site, not a bad place to start! U arent the guy that bought my motor are u?:D

I will need to burn some of current pics to cd to show how the conversion is coming. The rear part of the cage is on hold till I pic the rear seats.(need too know head room) I am in the air about 4 buckets from Mastercraft or a bench from Beard for the rear with Mastercraft up front. Over all I am happy with the fit of it all so far.

the problem with the pickup conversion is room for the rear passengers feet. my kids are small yet, and I'm fairly short. so there is barely enough room behind the front seats for them to put their feet. the cab floor is about 8 in lower than the box floor. Even so, you cant put enough dip in the floor like a 4 runner because of the fuel tank and frame. I had to use a thin fiberglass "mother-in-law"seat from a buggy. I had originally wanted to use a flip and fold seat for a jeep, but it placed the passengers too high, above the cage. also, tie the cab and box together firmly, so they cant flex and pinch a passenger.

Hey gang,

On my Bronco list a popular rear seat conversion is the 3rd seat from a Colt Vista wagon. I picked one up in good shape at a u-pullit for $10, and they had several. Comes with lap belts and brackets to recline, fold forward, and tumble. I'm guessing it's about 32" wide, but that's just a guess. Do a google search and you'll find some on early Bronco sites.

Later,
Garner
