Well I am moving right along at a snails pace. I have bolted up the replacement front clip. I would prefer white(anyone wanna trade let me know) but this is what you get for a toy 4x4(old sig line note) I traded a toy 4x4 for jeep parts (front clip, all three seats for yj, carpet, and a complete soft top) and came out better on the deal. I did find toyotas are good for something. I am working on the frame in the garage so this one under the yj is trash. Maybe a Jeep trailer is in order, anyway.

Here is the frame all cleaned with the reverse shacle mounts done and the rear crossmember braced. Next is the fitting of the 350-th400-d20 and I will be ready to paint the frame.

The next pic is of the rear crossmember I installed behind the stock c-member behind the gas tank. I know you will see the Chrome 5012s up there but They were on it when I got it. *BLING*BLING*

Ok for the last pic I am just showing a really bad shot of the front c-member and the rev shackle mount. If you are real good you can see the 1.5in sleeves for the shackle mount through the frame back farther.

So a breif summary is:
rev shackle and moved the mounts 2in forward, and added a front crossmember. Added a rear crossmember to the existing one. Have a c&c 14 bolt waiting with 4.56s. Have a waggy d44 front with 4.56s, and chevy 8lug outers for a f/r matched 63in wms to wms. Have 4 cherokee chief 7 leaf springs. Next I just have to hang my 350-th400-d20 drivetrain in the framerails and make mounts and a crossmember. Then I will be ready to toss the old frame(jeep trailer in the works) and mount up the body.

Okay one more pic. This is the c&c 14bolt under the yj now. These fit like a factory axle ALMOST!!!

c&c stands for cab and chassis= a cab and chassis 14bolt from a chevy dually with a flatbed. I am running waggy 7leaf front springs all the way around. The jeep is sitting on the 7 leafs in the rear in the pics above and some bent cj 6leaf hd rears in the front to move it around on the bent frame. I will also be removing the 3in body lift that is on it in the pics above. My only concern with this project is the d-line angle, but I will be finding out how that turns out this week.Next I will be selling my CJ5 to finance the wheels and tires and the buying of a house in 6to12 months.:crybaby2: :crybaby2:

whats the length wms to wms? what did it take to convert the dually to single?

good looking CJ

Well that is the bonus of a c&c 14bolt. The wms to wms is 63in. (stock yj is 61) and you dont have to do anything the wheel studs are longer and might require an open end lug nut. I used the wheel studs off a single wheel and they are normal now.

Just so you know if you want to upgrade the front at the same time you can go get a narrow track waggy front d44 and put chevy 8lug outer knuckles and brakes, etc... and have a wms of 63in on it as well. Now if you use both together you have an 8lug pair of axles with the same wms and all stock on the shelf replacement parts. I will run this combo untill I have broke the front enough to justify a d60 custom front axle.

Are you anticipating any clearance issues between the 14 bolt and gas tank with those Waggy springs. I'm doing the same set-up in the rear and was just wondering, my springs haven't got here yet (and neither has my fuel cell, but it's coming:D )

Well I have posted that question and read several threads here that say with the lift we will be getting from those springs it cant reach the fuel tank. Some people have pushed in there skid plate as far as they can as well. I am going to run it and find out the hard way if anyone is wrong on that.

Sound like it will be pretty  . Looks pretty tall. What size tires you planning on?

I keep tossing that around. Since it will be a little longer till its done I am not positive. Right now I am hooked on the 38.5 14.5 sxs whereas a month ago I wanted the 38.5 11 boggers, so its still up in the air. The pics show it with a 3in body lift that I am removing before it goes onto the new frame. Thanks, Sean.

I almost replied on that post about Browns point, but I know we are slammed this weekend. That was a trip mentioned on the chat board back in January I remember. I wish we could go:crybaby2: Well we are still trying to do the Pirate tour from there north. I had a strange winter, so not much got done. I was sick alot this year and missed some work. I am hoping to have it drivable by the first week of sept.
