I've run into a problem with my 420 swap. The slave cylinder from the 3 speed is shot, rusted heavily inside and out. i need to know what i can take the slave cylinder off of and run on the 420. I already know i'll have to fab up a bracket to mount it, what ever it ends up being. i remember someone saying that a certain slave DIDNT work because the throw was too short for a chevy clutch, im thinking maybe it was a mini slave? i think the post im looking for was back before one of the server changes we went through awhile ago, and i cant find it. Does anyone know what WILL work and what i can get it off of?
THANKS-
Matt:(

Contact Anthony from SRC. He runs a TPI 350 with an SM420.

I bought my setup from CCOT and it seems to work just fine.

Because A] 40 parts are hard to come by out here, and im not going to pay specter prices, B] if i can get a newer slave i would like to so its more reliable and C] im going to have to fab up new brackets no matter what i use because i have a 350.
:(

did you actually check out the link? CCOT is not Specter and they're only like $24 for a new one.

I am using the one that Keith posted above with my setup and I have had ZERO problems.

Big thing that people don't consider is they will mount the slave on the frame and then they complain there isn't enough of a throw for the slave cylinder to engage the clutch fully when wheeling. Mount the toy cylinder to the motor or the bellhousing and forget about it. $24 is not that bad, and you won't have to re-flare lines. :D:D:D

Yeh Kieth, i checked the link out, have some faith man! I'm still concerned with reliability issues, i've heard of ALOT of guys have thier stockers go out on the trail...

I do plan on mounting the slave bracket to the bellhousing, not the frame...

If you guys can ASSURE me those aftermarket ones are trustworthy, i'll go that way.. but im still unsure....

Hey Matt,
Those stockers go out on the trail cuz they are 20 years old or more and have been rebuilt ????? times.

It is a cyl. with a seal......:flipoff2:

It is either maintained and good or not:D

Toyota rareley makes bad parts
