Yes, its true, I have no idea how it happened, but a green second gen runner took the worst line possible comming down lions back about 30 feet from the top. There are so many rumors flying about how it happened, I don't think anybody really knows, one of the rumors I heard, was that he was driving down when some one else was coming up, he pulled to the LEFT side, caught a ledge that was more than six inches (yeah, still an indy front end) and put the truck on her side, with enough momentum to keep it tumbling down to a nasty crack at the bottom. Last I heard the three people in the truck were in critical condition - as of sunday morning. Does anybody really know how this happened? Or if the three people in the truck are still doing OK? Have a good time, know the limitations of your ride, and don't be stupid. Sounds easy huh!

I was down there for that one back in '91. Just saw the news coverage about the 4Runner tonight. Had to air-lift them out one by one, and sounds like everyone will be OK. They said it fell 60 feet. They started the piece by saying "EJS is always dangerous, and today.....". Lion's back shouldn't be a dangerous place to be, unless there are too many rigs on it or two- way traffic like in this case.

They need a traffic light at the bottom.:)
