I have an 03 Tj and would like a lil cheap traction help in the front axel (D30).
I was kind of leaning towards a Detroit Tuetrac or possibly the E-Z Locker. What about the Powertrax or the Lock Right...How will any of these behave on the street since it has'nt had a hub conversion done to it.This is a daily driver with a Detroit Softlocker allready in the back axel. Thanks for your opinions/help!:jeep:

A couple of the guys in our group have run the lock-rite in the front of YJ's and it can be done. There is however some scrubing issues on the front tires, but short of an ARB, an E locker or some other selectable locker you will have this problem with no front hubs.
As far as the Powertrax goes, I run one in the rear of my Scout with no real problems on the street. Yes you know that there is a locker back there but it is VERY easy to deal with.
You might want to consider a Dana Trac-loc or some other limited slip for the front though. This should be alot easier to drive on and wait on the front locker untill you can swing either a selectable locker ( my choice) or the hub conversion.
Hope this helps-------- S&R

we're talking front right? you already have a detroit in the rear?
lockright, quick lock, ez-locker, they are all the same.
i ran a lockright (got it used) in my D30 front in my old XJ on 36s, broke it once, broke countless axleshafts in the process.
i couldnt tell it was there on the street. if you try to listen for it on long tight slow corners (parking lot) then you can barely hear it clicking.
off road, it definately had some understeer (push). i remember having to shift into 2wd on a couple points on the rubicon, cause i would have to do a 20 point turn otherwise. this only happens when power is exerted on the front pinion yoke, 4wd on the gas. coasting in 4wd or anything in 2wd it is transparent.
