Does anyone know anything about these trucks? I am looking at getting a 1/2 ton and getting rid of my CTD. I know... Step down, but my Ddoge is lifted, my wife won't drive it, and we agreed that a 1/2 ton Chevy or Ford would work just great for us... Soooooooo who knows anything about the hybrid Chevy trucks? I can get it with the 5500 motor... What do you guys think?

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, this stop-start hybrid system increases fuel mileage by nearly 12 percent in the city mode, five percent highway. Specifically, the two-wheel drive hybrid version has a government rating of 18 mpg city and 20 mpg highway; the four-wheel drive is rated at 17 mpg city/19 mpg highway.

I don't know what your situation is asfar as money owed against your truck or even if it's paid for, but wouldn't it be cheaper to lower your truck back to stock height and keep it? Would your wife drive it then, or is it just plain to big for her? just a thought. hillbilly

Yea, the ctd should be getting better mileage, plus when something on the hybrid breaks, imagine the cost of that, and smoeone who will actually work on it..... find someone who wants a lift for their dodge, and trade them suspension maybe?

4Wheel and offroad just had a pretty interesting article on hybrids... check it out, april '06 issue, pg. 96-101. went into quite a bit of depth on the Silverado hybrid... though it is unusual for them to go into depth on anything, I was even impressed.
