I just got my 8.8 in yesterday, with the much loved assistance of Jeff McRae (old fart), John Swink (ratherbejeeping), Rich, and raphael. After numerous trips to pep boys, and two different autozones, along with one trip to the local ford dealer, we FINALLY got all the right parts for the swap. I still need to pull my proportioning valve, and re bleed the brakes, but its driveable. No more :nuke: Dana 35 for me!!!!!!!!Pics to come Monday.

Let me find the list of parts and such that I had together, and think off the top of my head what all was involved. As far as gears/locker, It has been regeared to 4.56's but I still have the trac loc in it. My eventual plan is to throw a no slip in it when I get the money.

Couldn't find an Exploder? When I picked mine up I looked at about 20 of them, all had been rolled.

As far as where I got the 8.8, a buddy of mine got a screaming deal on it, and decided he didnt want to use it, so I got it. Ask FNG on this board where he got it from.
Its out of a 97 explorer.

Good deal Scott :D

For once, I can't pick on you for talking about all the things you are "going" to be doing or putting in, cause you actually did it. ;)

I have one with 4.56's and all new brake parts, with the spicer ujoint adapter and 7" spring pads to help prevent axle wrap out of a 98' explorer, only used for a couple months in the for sale forum. 700 shipped to most of the 48 states.

I also have some wheel adapters for 5 on 4.5 to 5 on 5.5 and some hubs and spindles for a 5 on 5.5 conversion on a front D44.
