So, '92 F150 w/ 351 is due for tranny. Need to keep it CA smog legal so I don't want to deal with all the crap that comes with swapping for something different. Been doing a little homework on the web and it looks like the E4OD can be built up to be pretty solid and reliable.

Question now is: Where? Was kind of eyeing River City Transmissions. Anyone else have any experience with them or suggestions for the greater Sac area or someplace via web (provided shipping costs don't become prohibitive)? I'ld like to deal with someone that is experienced with the specific short-comings of the E4OD and how to fix them.

PS: I have searched the forums here and the hits are pretty weak. Mostly just tranny ID, but not really any tech.
