Alright, so I ordered my fuel cell from summit and the fittings to go along with it. Problem is that the fittings that connect to the fuel cell are wayyy tooo big, that is the hose that connects to the fittings, for the sammi fuel pump fittings. THe fuel pump fittings use no more than a 1/4 line and the fittings on the fuel cell need like a 3/8 and 1/2 fuel line:confused:  WTF do I do??
Please help cause this is worrying me and I need to get it done!!!
THank you!

i think you can get a "reducer" not sure what's it's called but it will convert from one size to another. or just get an electric fuel pump.

Any good auto parts store should have a big rack of drawers full of brass fittings, you should be able to easily reduce the fittings on the fuel cell down to use the zuk lines. :D

and don't forget to use an appropriate thread sealer on all your fittings, too.;)

Okay: first off, are the fittings on the fuel cell anodized aluminum or brass? The alum. fittings use different thread than brass except for the pipe threads - they do Not always interchange.

If there are just pipe threads comming out of the fuel cell, you can use a reducing bushing to a smaller pipe size, then to a nipple to the appropriate hose size.
(Huh-huh..... I said "Nipple" Uhhh.........Huh-huh):D

I believe the fittings are -10 AN leading to the fuel pump and -8 AN for return and vent lines. I looked all over Summit racing catalog and didn't see any kind of reducer that would work. Maybe I will just use an electric fuel pump, but thats more $ and funds are getting real low, so maybe something else will work!

-10 AN = 5/8" diameter (I.D.)
-8 AN = 1/2" diameter (I.D.)
-6 AN would be 3/8" ID
-4 AN would be 1/4" ID

Is the "AN" fitting screwed into the cell using pipe threads??
They usually are - that's where the reducing bushing would go - this can be bought at the hardware store in brass. If I had to venture a guess, I'd say it's probably 1/2" pipe going into the cell - You might consider going down to 3/8", then use 3/8" MIP / -6 AN to the pump.

Any of that make sense?:rasta:

I just hooked up an aluminum cell in my truck. Go to a good auto parts store. Not autozone, go to the one that closes at 5...it's acme for us. Anyway, what you want are jic fittings. They're exactly the same thread as AN fittings at 1/4 the price. Take your cell and your pump in, and get the proper fittings/reducers/hose and everything in one stop. worked for me. No leaks, no problems, and ALL my fittings/hose was $37. Still left me some cash for

yeah, that would be possible if I had an electric pump, but the stock pump, which I wanna use for now doesn't have screw or thread in fittings so I cant enlarge it to match the fuel cell fittings!

Did you get all this straightened out yet?

You never did distinguish which type of threads are actually in the fuel cell.... if you are in doubt take a picture with something in the photo for size reference. With a little luck, you should be able to hook the existing factory metal line straight to the cell with no problem - just need more info to help.
