Might want to beware of the LED's. I was just shopping for some turn signals myself. Got to talking with the parts guy, and he said the LED's are prone to vibration.

He said he got burned, cuz he got a contract with the local city transit to buy the LED's from their store, and they all stared burning out in about 6 months.

That seems kind of funny. Most of the large fleets are going to them because even though they cost 3 times as much as a regular bulb they last 10 times longer.

Was it a REAL parts guy or the DUDE at Auto Zone?

This was a real Napa parts guy. In fact their store is just about the only one I will shop in anymore. They're always pulling the books when I walk in the door. Sometimes they pull half the junk off their shelves just so i can browse through it looking for something I like.

Anyway, I guess it could have been the brand they carry, I dunno. When it comes down to it, 2 turn signals wouldn't be a big loss, but a whole fleet of buses

Take it for what it's worth I guess.

the LED ones aren't suceptible to vibration, that's why truck fleets run them. I used to loose at least 1 taillite on my trailer every trip, now with LED's I haven't lost one in almost a year.

dont have a clear pic for ya, but i got me some tiny ones from the cycle shop, they are tear drop shaped and i mounted them on the side of the body, like the euro cars have under the mirrors kinda, anyway they had other to choose from., and the LED's are fine and last long, but they HAVE to be rubber mounted, hence the rubber surround they mount in and never touch the truck.

Vibration? They are mounted in rubber gromments.

Not to dispute you, but I dont see how LED's burn from vibes, being as they have no filament like a standard incandescant bulb. This is the main Idea behind LED's to begin with. Bright, cool, long lasting light.

One thing to keep in mind is that quite a few guys that have converted over to the LEDs, have had problems with the turn signals not flashing. I had a similar problem on my street bike and the signals not flashing and found it was due to the new signals not drawing enough amps to trigger the flasher relay. Most have cured this problem by using an electronic flasher relay and say it works no prob. I have yet to research how many amps my stock flasher draws, but I don't think I'll be too bad off cuz I am gonna have more of them running on each side which should compensate for the lower draw of the LEDs. We'll see I guess.

Old Scout- Those are cool, unfortunatley 2 inches plus the grommet wont fit, but those would look sweet in my new rear bumper.

Tiger-The LED flashing thing can be a pita, especially if you have a mix of led and regular lighting. I spoke with the guys at the local NAPA truck parts place and they have a variety of flasher replacements that can make it work for for a vareity of applications.
