: Where to get Dana 60's for aTJ buidup
Prostar 02-06-2006, 06:30 PM What is the best donor vehicle to get a front and rear high pinion Dana 60's for a TJ? I want full width axles, this is going to be my woods buggy only !! and no I can't afford Pro Rock 60's, I know Fords used high pinion front and back with driver side drop but don't they have a wierd lug pattern and when did they quit using regular lockout hubs? Thanks for the help, and don't give me any of that Newbie shit either :shaking:
kirbyiv 02-06-2006, 06:44 PM no stock rears were hi pinion
85krawlercj7 02-06-2006, 06:46 PM a high pinion rear would be weaker. i would suggest standard rotation
kwrangln 02-06-2006, 06:54 PM don't give me any of that Newbie shit either :shaking:
If you dont want the newbie shit, then carry your newbie ass over to the tech section (menu in the upper right of the screen) and check out the 60 bible. Read up, and come back with a real question.

Clemsonkrawler 02-06-2006, 07:08 PM If you wanna buy 60's.... Try the fuckin for sale section. Jackass.
Schmozilla 02-06-2006, 07:09 PM What you need is a set of axles from a 1978 or 1979 F-350 or some f-250s such as the snowfighter... expect to pay over 1000 for just the front... the rears are a dine a dozen...
Brink_ 02-06-2006, 11:26 PM No such thing as stock high pinion rears. Ford made fronts high only. Yes drivers drop.
Better do some research before you start asking this stuff in this section.

Prostar 02-07-2006, 05:03 PM You guys ain't messing with some young punk ass kid here, all I was asking if there was a certain vehicle that makes the easiest swap possible, I don't work on cars for a living, and you all have years of experience of doing this shit, so lay off the pork and bean and help me!! out I'm on the east coast so it will probably cast me a are and a leg to ship a axle thats why I'm asking what I need

bigwillys 02-07-2006, 10:34 PM dude the take home message from anything that any of us have learned here is to SEARCH before posting. you did not do this
Corn_Smuggler 02-08-2006, 12:35 AM Why do I own a Jeep and find myself posting in Gen 4x4 more than here? This newbie question type BS is slowly choking the life out of this section. I too have the occasional newbie BS question; why do I find it so fucking easy to put it in the right section from day 1 on here though? I just don't get it... :shaking:
Seriously, if you don't know how to buy a Dana 60, how can you expect to install one?

No, but double posting, and posting newbie questions in the hardcore section makes the locals grumpy. Please read forum rules and act accodingly
