I just got an oiless 7.5 (or something like that) HP stand up 60 gal compressor. How should I mount it to the floor? directly with grade 5 bolts and concrete lugs or with some sort of bushing in between the floor and the compressor..

Jason -

Check Grainger. They sell compressor mounts that are like engine mounts where the 2 mounting bolts are NOT connected (thats how you transmit vibrations).

Anyway check - 2 years ago, I bought some and they had about 10 different sizes and ratings.

Jim

PS - Take that oiless back. They are LOUD. I know I have one! Wish I had gone oiled....

Mine has 3 "feet".

I made a pad for each foot, out of a 1/2" chunk of softwod plywood wrapped in a couple of wraps of that super-squishy carpet underlay )coz that's what was lying in the way when i rolled the compressor into the shop!)
