Ok i need to change the pan on my friends 92 bronco. He says you need to lift the engine to do it. Why do you need to lift the engine? IS there a cross member or is it just the front axle in the way? We are putting a lift on it and if the axle is in the way once we drop it i should be able to change it with no problem.

This one is pretty high on the PITA factor. You'll need to raise the motor, and you'll probably have to unbolt the oil pump in order to actually get the pan away from the motor.

damnit =( But what is in its way? Why do i need to lift the engine? Will it be easier with the front axle off?

the cross member is in the way, this is a nice job, If i recall right it pays like 8-10 hours, Un bolt the rear tranny cross member then the motor mounts, all the other BS stuff as well and pick the motor up like 12 inches,
I have seen people only pick the motor up about 3 inch and disamale the pump inside the pan, but that will lead to more headache unless you have done it before

Drop the exhaust, tranny crossmember. Take the upper intake, if you are EFI. remove fan and shroud. lift it a couple of inches, drop the tranny down, then you can get it out.
