ive got a 97 ram 1500 5.2L, nv3500, np231hd, 106k, constant load spark-knock.... the other day i was sittin at a friends apt with it runnin, and the idle just randomly started to drop until i had to hit hte pedal to keep it runnin. well it idled back up and ran fine. when i started to pull of the "check engine" light came on. drivin down the road it would randomly start to miss and backfire through the intake over ~1500 RPM. i checked the code and it said upstream 02. i cleared the code, and added some fuel treatment and high test gas (tank was lil below 1/4). it runs ok now but can feel hesitation. i checked the coil and wires and they were fine, plugs have normal lookin wear to them (only been in bout 20-25k), truck has always ran fine at idle the whole time.

what is the prob cause to this randomness?? and insight is good. thanks in advance,
