I just finished converting my 88 YJ over to rear XJ springs. Now I trying to decide what fuel cell to buy.

I've narrowed it down to (3) different RCI models.

Option 1 is the 17 gallon, it measure 30 lg x 7 wide x 17 high. I can cut the floor and drop it down an inch or two, otherwise it will stick up above the tailgate. Not a big deal plus it leave alot of room for other stuff.

Option 2 is the 15 gallon, it measure 30 x 9 x 12 high. Sits below the tailgate without cutting, but takes up more room and holds 2 gallons less.

Option 3 is the 19 gallon, it measure 30 x 12 x 12. Holds more fuel than the 17 but takes up 5" of space.

The jeep has a 350SBC with 44 boggers, D60 D70 combo with 5.86 gears. I have a heavy foot so this thing is going to suck gas. It think the 17 is the way to go, what's your opinions???? Should I go a different route than RCI?

Several of us run the 2161 type (15 gallon) and they seem to work great with the space. This is if you like keeping the rear seat...

are you keeping your back seat or not? do you go wheeling on long trip without seeing a gas station? if your keeping the back seat go with 15 gal. you could always get a jerry can.

Which tank would be best to keep some storage space? I have no back seat either.
