Looking for places to go camping with atv's. Anyone know of any good places? All atv's are Green Stickered and looking to have camping close to a lake or river so kids can go swimming while others are riding. Anywhere within a few hours of Sacramento would be great but will travel a bit farther if needed. You can email me with your spot if you don't want to spread the news everywhere for the greenies to find out about.
Thanks. :usa:

Meadow Lake is one spot we've done this at. Good wheeling (Fordyce) and miles of dirt roads and logging trails in the area to explore w/ the bikes. :)
Greenhorn Creek near Nevada City is another one. The creek isn't much for swimming in the summer, but kids don't usually need much water to have fun. Never camped there though since my parents live just a mile or two away.
Check it out @ the cleanup that RCRC will be participating in (you probably already know).
The Eagle Lakes area (I-80 end of Fordyce trail) is another spot. Several trails/roads in the area besides the main trail.
Heck everywhere up in that area... Bowman Lake, Fordyce Road (Cisco Grove exit)... its all kinda connected by dirt roads and there are camping areas, lakes, and rivers everywhere. I'm pretty sure you can get from Bowman/I-80 area all the way up to Sierraville on dirt/logging roads. Get yourself a Tahoe Nat. Forest map.
This is the only area we've ever really been, I'm sure there are MANY others.
HTH!

You could head up I-5 to Stonyford. Plenty of camping and riding there.

I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. :D
Another one where we go alot is Forresthill (Sugar Pine). Good riding, streams and a few lakes to play in. Auburn to Forrest Hill Divide road. Check it out.

Stoneyford -
Little Stoney campground off of Goat Mtn road
or
Davis Flats (smaller creek access compared to Little Stoney).
Stop by and say Hi if you see the Black Blazer.
And be careful - lotsa new people on the trails these days. Getting crowded.
