What do people think of a detroit ez-locker in the front of a Toyota? Do ez-lockers hold up?

I ran one in my rear axle for 8 months. worked fine. I had 4.10 gears and 33s, and later 36s. It's going up front as soon as it gets re-geared (a V6 diff w/ a detroit & 5.39s is out back now)

They have a lot of 'clunk' to them, though. Lotsa play, which can be annoying in the rear diff in a daily driver. Don't know how it'll be up front.

I would suggest a twin-stick though, sine auto-lockers can be kinda hard on birfields.

I blew one up after 6 years, 4.5 in the rear of my IFS rig, and 1.5 in the front. Pretty much all with 33-9.50's. Cracked at the blue line, all 4 holes http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/attachment.php?s=&postid=392871 and 8 pins, should be 4 http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/attachment.php?s=&postid=389128

I ran one (Lockright/same design)with IFS and like d it. I have put 80k miles on my rear one so far. They have alot of backlash so I think they are better in the fronts as you don't have to deal with it everyday.

Todd, are the pins all that broke? If so that doesn't sound to bad.
