: cutting the body
zuk88 10-06-2001, 04:26 PM I was thinking that I should cut the fenders out of my zuk like AZ's ride. I want to fit 33"-35" tires when I go to Toy axles but I don't want to lift the truck any higher than the 7" lift it has now. Do you think I could fit 35"s with cut fenders and 7" of lift???

You could fit 35's with NO lift, if you cut enough.
scwafish 10-06-2001, 09:53 PM Ditch the fenders all together in the front and make a clip out of tubing. Give the rear the ARCA thing.
monizuki 10-06-2001, 11:20 PM I have the 6" deluxe kit from Rocky Road outfitters with Calmini Drop Shackles (1") and I like em, only thing is I need to get some NHRA style long studs with spacers to increase my turning radius, I'm runninf TSL Thornbirds now with 33x12.50x15

zuk88 10-07-2001, 10:53 AM Hey Poppy,
When you going to get that thing out of the driveway
Gozuki 10-07-2001, 11:11 AM I agree about RRO, I have had two designs stolen personally from me, 1 trade agreed to and not carried thru and about 2 BLATANT lies. I am tired of it and will never deal with Glenn again. Granted, my ideas were not patented, but I expected better. I guess that was my own costly mistake!

Damn! What's the story?

Gozuki 10-07-2001, 11:29 PM I had decided to replace my GRSII with a GRSI and made the mistake of approaching Glenn with a trade; my case for a GRSI and some "store credit". The deal was done, and months went by with no answer on phone or email. Finally I found out that he had swapped someone else and was just avoiding me. As for the ideas, a couple years ago, when it was still Summit, I talked with Glenn about his rear bumper design, and how it was designed. From my engineering background, I remarked that it was unbraced from the top, and that I planned to do mine similar to his, but with two top straps that tie into the back two body mounts. He said that "was unneccesary", but the next time I looked (about two weeks later), he had changed the design, and the ad (in bold caps) to reflect HIS improved design. I was so mad I hadn't talked to him since, but a common wheeling buddy reports that Glenn boasted to other Suzuki guys how his design was stronger than anybody elses, and that he was real proud of it. Not to mention that he takes credit for the "missing link" design, when guys from SoCal Gadzuks had this idea and made the shackles 2 years before Glenn Oh well, whats the use...

A better way than what I did is to just remove the front fenders and repaint the area underneath. I saw this done and it looks good, can't tell there was a fender there. You can also tie the tubing into the door hinge mount bolts which will add some protection for the hinges.
