I am looking for a FJ60 rear and you happen to live in the same state as me. Just a little further west than I am. I would love a FJ60 rear with 4.88 gears. How much are you looking to get for one of those. I am quite interested, so let me know.

O ya I forgot to say that one of these sets has the pirches on top already. Not that this matters cause most guys will have to move them anyways but just thought I would say so.

You know what else I forgot? I also have one of those cool FabTech crossover sterring arms bolted to the front with the pirches SOA. If you want this to I will through it in with the SOA axles.

could I use those front axles to change my 74fj40 over to disc brakes? would this be a "bolt on job" just like the mini truck swap?

Yes the outer knuckle assembly's will bolt up to your FJ40 axle, and for that matter the only parts that are different than a FJ40 is the inner shafts and the housing itself (longer).

You could just swap in the whole axle with a little fabbing on the short side spring perch, and then have 3 inch wider axles.

Seems someone one this board just did that swap...........ohh yeah it was me!!!! :D Seriously though Donald it's a good swap, 3" gives you a little more stability, and the single slave cylinder per side rear brakes are a lot better than the older FJ40 rear setup. I kept and used the Parking brake setup which eventually I'll convert over to cutting brakes ( I just need one more parking brake handle)

So how much do you want for a front axle? rear axle? without ARB's

Also, would a third member from a FJ40 fit in those axles? I would have a ton of spare parts then. :D:D:D

Yes FJ40 3rd members will interchange you would just have to change out the drive shaft flange. I am asking 1100.00 for F/R both complete with 4.88s I think is a reasonable asking price due to the fact they come with 4.88s. If you want an ARB I am asking 450 extra for those each. One of the sets has brand new 4.88s in them with maby 1000 miles on them the other set has about 10,000 on them and they are in great shape.

Are the fronts disc and the rear drum? Can you give me a price for front/rear w/ ARB in both, and shipped to CA 95758. Thanks

Dog Walker,

I was told driveshaft flanges are different between 40 and 60...
Do you have info on this..

Also, the offset in 60 series is different from 40, if you only need to move one perch I assume ?

Thanks,

Denis

Drive shaft flanges are different on 40s in fact they even very in between years on 60s. But due to the fact that FJ60 flanges are round all you would have to do is rotate inbetween the holes and drill new ones for your style drive shaft yoke.

I dont know about the off set being "different" the 60 axles are 3 inches wider. Is that the difference you are refering to? Sorry I am not dog walker but I think he will concure with me.

I have had a lot of emails requesting front only... I would like to sell these as sets so I dont get stuck with just a rear I cant sell. Sorry for being so picky.

The difference between the 40 axles and 60 axles is indeed 3" The problem is that the extra length was added to only one side. It makes it kinda hard to put a 60 axle in the front of a 40 without outboarding the springs. Certianly not impossible though.
The short side axle shaft is identical to a 40's

Yes it is a little harder and I know that dog walker did it several years ago without out boarding.

USFSIHC,
I don't know if you caught my earlier post on your axles that you are selling. I am looking for a rear only. If you have a rear FJ60 axle that has 4.88 gears but no locker, I would be very interestd. So, if you have someone who is looking for a front only, I would be willing to by one of the rears off of you. Just let me know if this works. Also, I live in Fort Collins, so it is not terribly far from you. I am still interested and willing to work something out with you. Just let me know, Thomas

I was just curious what the status of these axles is? USFSIHC, did you leave town already? Just trying to see if they are sold yet or not? If not, I am still interested. Thomas

He had to leave for Oregon early, so he did'nt bring them to Cali with him, so email him and I'm sure you guys can arrange for you to meet with his Brother back in CO for the deal.

As for the guy in Elk Grove that wanted a set, he brought his FJ60 to Oregon with him and plans to pull those out soon, so they may be available soon as well. I live in Sac and he stops at my place inbetween the two locations, so you guys could probably work somthing out as well.

Thanks Dog Walker. I have been in touch via email. Do you have any pics on how you mounted the front, without outboarding. Is there a benefit. Seems like outboarding would give me extra stability and wouldn't be too tough. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks Jake
