Well, it's not quite finished yet and there are some custom rocker guards in the works and possibly some exo action.:flipoff2: Fortunately (or unfortunately), we don't have much for hard core rock action like all of you guys - mostly mud and forested areas (check out some of Whiteknights videos) so the possibility of body destruction is far less than what you encounter.:D
Yota Tony 02-09-2006, 09:59 AM Seen your bro's posts on mallcrawlin.com
Definately a nice rig.
sceep 02-09-2006, 10:20 AM looks really topheavy.
looks damn sexy.
i'd drive it in the mud/woods.
rock-rod 02-09-2006, 10:21 AM I wouldn't hesitate to take it on any trail I drive my own vehicle.
Definitely awesome. nice work.
currupt4130 02-09-2006, 10:41 AM looks great, good work!
DevinB 02-09-2006, 10:54 AM Sweet!
Nordic1 02-09-2006, 11:02 AM Not bad at all
I like it. There is a similar silver one down here in Tx.
Tell him he better wheel it like he stole it. :flipoff2:
xtremexj94 02-09-2006, 11:33 AM Tell him he better wheel it like he stole it. :flipoff2:
Yeah, I keep telling him the same.:flipoff2: He's trying to make it to Grand Slam West if his registration made it in time.
 Good god that thing is sweet!
Pietro 02-09-2006, 02:35 PM not too many built up WJ's
it almost looks like a photochop at first glance because I am not used to seeing them
rockcrawling with dual climate controls:flipoff2:
boomboom33 02-09-2006, 03:45 PM Fawkin' sweet.
heepr 02-09-2006, 04:51 PM I'm still loving it.. Been watching on Mallcrawlin as well. Nice to see someone using blingin parts to build a WJ for the purpose of wheeling. Once you get the rocker protection and either an internal cage or an exo, it'll be there. You're going to love the Iroks.
xtremexj94 02-09-2006, 05:01 PM This will be his first set of Iroks - I'm on my second set and they are the goods. Best all around tire in my humble opinion.
Go_Vols 02-09-2006, 07:30 PM SMASH! (background noise: "ooooooohhhhh, that sucks")
Looks good - and you'll have a great set of running gear for the 97 TJ you buy after destroying that purty WJ!
wranglerboy93 02-09-2006, 08:35 PM Nice, yeah Ive been to a couple Jeep shows and a WJ that big is hard to come by. Real nice. Wheeling in comfort right there.
Puma297 02-09-2006, 11:38 PM we zj/wj owners are some hardcore soccer moms.
TexasBlake 02-10-2006, 01:03 AM That thing is badass. I'd pimp that bitch to the nearest uppety restaurant and get it vallet parked.
Now, get some fawkin wheelin pics. :flipoff2:
Hvy_Chevy 02-10-2006, 05:16 AM looks nice on pavement - flex it up at the mall and post some pics of the tires stuffed into the fenders.
xtremexj94 02-10-2006, 07:56 AM looks nice on pavement - flex it up at the mall and post some pics of the tires stuffed into the fenders.
Why - do you think there's going to be carnage? Ever heard of bump stops.:flipoff2:
xtremexj94 02-10-2006, 07:57 AM Now, get some fawkin wheelin pics. :flipoff2:
Still a bit of work to do before it hits the dirt. Probably won't see it's first offroad excursion until Easter weekend. Hell, that's probably the next time my XJ will be out for that matter - it's always the small shit that seems to take the longest.:shaking:

It's not as purdy as it looks - there's plenty of Rocky Mountain brush striping on it already as well as a few dents. Why does everybody think that a hardcore wheeler needs to end up on its lid and have massive body damage? Some people are skilled enough to actually drive a vehicle without rolling it.:flipoff2:

Ain't it the truth about all the "SMALL SHIT" that makes the BIG STINK when it comes to completing a project !!
My wife Loves your WJ now she wants her 96 ZJ to be that size ! ( currently on 33 MTR's )
Wish we were closer to compare projects and do some wheeling when they're done, you guys have some amazing rigs. Take Care, Good Luck with the small shit ;)
David B.
LOOKING good , that thing is sweet!!!!!!!!!!
xtremexj94 02-10-2006, 09:29 AM I think I speak for my bro when I say thanks for the props! I don't think he's even looked at this yet or even knows I've put this on the board.
hmm interesting... I am installing 40" MTR's on my ZJ next week. What ratio was that? How streetable is it?
jaybirdd 02-10-2006, 09:34 AM I'd love to know where ya got the winch bumper, I built a '99 WJ for the wife, only went with 4" of lift, though! I wheel hers hard, it outruns alot of TJ's on the rocks!

Posted on pg.1 - 5.38s. This is currently his daily driver, so the answer is very streetable.

My bro and another friend made these themselves - they were building these as a business venture a couple years ago but there hasn't been much interest lately. There are 3 WJs up here in town with these bumpers on them. They also shipped 1 or 2 down to the US.
BIG DUB 02-10-2006, 02:10 PM Thanks Shane.
I wasn't gonna bother posting up here cause I didn't think it would be "hardcore enough".
Rig drives quite nice. Doesn't seem tippy or anything cornering. I have some Bilstein 7100s to go on front and rear soon.
Among the little things to do are tapping my steering box and mounting my ram. Going to add another upper arm in front for street driving too.
4 seats and a/c are nice for wheelin too.
Action pics will be coming soon (hopefully).
BIG DUB 02-10-2006, 02:13 PM I like it. There is a similar silver one down here in Tx.
I think Henley sold it but I don't know where it went to.
Thanks all for the props!
b.lee 02-11-2006, 10:14 PM it looks good, does it wear parts fast?
stock axles? what kind of lift? custom lift?
Stinger124 02-12-2006, 07:38 AM Pretty kool looking rig.. I am like most.. I would like to see some wheelin pic of it when you get time..
Tommy_M 02-12-2006, 10:59 AM Nice rig. been watching this on MC aswell. Good work.

Keep checking the progress on your "Suspension gutted" Thread. Was hoping to see it at GSW but I see you weren't confirmed.

I am geeting anxious to get it on the trail but I still have a few small things to do yet before its "Trailready".
I don't believe in Street Queens;).

Actually was looking forward to that. Registartion filled up quick. I will still send in my deal. But we will see. I want to go. I plan on going to EJS with my wife, and want to do GSW as well. Gas is the killer though. My 04 3500 dodge duallie does a number on the pocket book. Would like to get a full cage in by then, and we plan on doing some sort of partial exo over the room and back quarters. That is if I don't roll it before then.

Never rolled mine either Your Supreme Grocery Driver Skillfullness, but I have broken the 1 piece of glass I had in mine... you just happen to have 7 pieces to break! Have fun! Smash! :flipoff2: :flipoff2:
Infernal Jeep 02-12-2006, 11:19 PM Bad ass Dub Jay.I like it,I'd definately rock that thing any day of the week.
xtremexj94 02-13-2006, 09:22 AM Never rolled mine either Your Supreme Grocery Driver Skillfullness,
Go_Vols - if you would put your crack pipe down long enough to pay attention, I drive the XJ on Mogs with the exo, not the WJ - that belongs to my bro.:shaking:
Sharp 02-13-2006, 12:35 PM holy crap Shane, i had no idea that is what Brett was working on, man i only wish i could have got together with you guys before i left!
i can;t wait to wheel with you guys when i get back!!! awesome work guys!!

LMFAO - at least you've got a sense of humor.:flipoff2: Yeah, got some glass still - just not the 1/4 glass, hence the cab chop. I'm not too worried about the rest at this point - not enough hardcore rock crawling to worry about up here.
Go_Vols 02-13-2006, 07:07 PM Alright Shane - so you actually have an X-MJ now. Well done. And with all that runnin' gear you need to find some rocks to play in... eh?
xtremexj94 02-14-2006, 08:01 AM Alright Shane - so you actually have an X-MJ now. Well done. And with all that runnin' gear you need to find some rocks to play in... eh?
I'm working on it - we just don't have that terrain like you guys. The closest that I'll get this year is out to BC for a run in some rocks anyways. Tell you what, why don't you pay for my gas and I'll drive down to Texas to see y'all and we'll go play in the rocks. Would that make me as hardcore as you?:flipoff2:
xtremexj94 02-14-2006, 08:17 AM Seriously though, why all the hate man? We all love Jeeps on this board, we all have our particular model that we built, and we all use them in the terrain that we have available. Just because we don't have any rocks to play in, does that mean that all the bottomless bogs, washed out fire roads, and long, steep climbs aren't hardcore? You should head over to http://www.whiteknight.ca and check out some of the 2004 videos from Killer Cutline and see if that rates on your hardcore-o-meter.:flipoff2: We make the best of what we have to work with. I would be more than happy to trade our terrain for rocks any day of the week and twice on Sundays - I'm getting tired of cleaning mud off my rig, but that's not an option.
geberhard 02-14-2006, 10:09 AM really bad ass rig! I will check the build thread on mcrawlin, any more info on the long arm builds, attachments, and any pseudo frame?
Gui
xtremexj94 02-14-2006, 10:19 AM Gui - the long arm set up is basically a copy of Clayton's kit from about 4 years ago. The only difference that my bro made in the front is to use a seperate upper arm instead of the radius arm style. Check the link to Mall Crawlin for pics of the arms and mounts. How's yours coming by the way? I guess I'll have to check your thread again.

I've seen the Whitenight website, and I'll agree that it's sick and that I am not built for ANY of that crap (I hate mud). Hell, in the mud and cold I'd like to have a top... just gotta give the full-bodied guys their rasher of shit every now and then.
Nothin' but love for you guys, nothing but love.
And come on down to Texas and put that thing to good use!
geberhard 02-14-2006, 10:44 AM Not many changes on my WJ, am still debating what to do next, it is only $$ right :) I most likely will go in a custom setup. My hands are full right now with two projects, so gotta keep the WJ streetable, but checking out the WJ is a very bad influence, hehe!
Looks killer!
Gui
xtremexj94 02-14-2006, 11:01 AM And come on down to Texas and put that thing to good use!
If I win the lottery I'll be down for sure! However, I may have to dream and that's all for now.:( I may try and plan a trip to Moab or something next year so maybe someone will also be there and hook up for a run or two.:D
Peak ZJ 02-18-2006, 12:36 PM we zj/wj owners are some hardcore soccer moms.
Yes we are:smokin:
jn_bar 02-18-2006, 01:11 PM I checked out the other forum, pretty sweet pictures. I can't wait to see some action pictures :D
BIG DUB 03-13-2006, 07:05 PM Finally did some testing in an industrial area by my work.
I'm pretty happy with the results all in all.
Here's some front droop. Thats a 30" Procrap shock maxed out. My Bilsteins will allow another 1 and a bit of droop.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/SLO_MO/05%20Build%20Up/Flexin/Driver_Droop2.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/SLO_MO/05%20Build%20Up/Flexin/Driver_Stuff.jpg
BIG DUB 03-13-2006, 07:11 PM I had to adjust my steering stops a bit in order to be able to turn at full stuff. It gave me a nice crappy turning radius:( . The only way to get that back would be to completely rebuild the inner front part of the fender. Unfortunately WJs aren't conducive to major hackage.
Here's a front pass stuff at "my" full left lock".
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/SLO_MO/05%20Build%20Up/Flexin/Pass_Stuff_turn.jpg
And yeah I forgot to paint my wheel hubs during assembly:flipoff2: .
BIG DUB 03-13-2006, 07:14 PM Here's some rear droop. The coil was unseated about 1" but I'm not sure how much more I'll get out of it. I need to play with my lower shock mounts as I have some clearance issues.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/SLO_MO/05%20Build%20Up/Flexin/HPIM0561.jpg
The front works pretty good so I'm not sure if I'll add a rear sway bar or not.
BIG DUB 03-13-2006, 07:16 PM And some rear stuffage.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/SLO_MO/05%20Build%20Up/Flexin/HPIM0571.jpg
BIG DUB 03-13-2006, 07:30 PM Now the rear shock problem. I did the lower mounts in the same position essentailly as the stockers only higher up. This however limits my travel because about 1" from bottoming out the bumpstop the tire hits the shock body. I plan to move the lower shock mounts in about 1 1/2" and down to accomodate my new Bilsteins. They are 12" travel compared to the chitty 10"ers on there now. They are also resevoirs so I should be able to run can down without too many issues.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/SLO_MO/05%20Build%20Up/Flexin/shock_1.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/SLO_MO/05%20Build%20Up/Flexin/shock_2.jpg
bigdude 03-14-2006, 11:19 AM Any chance to bumpstop the front uptravel and save the turning radius??? Not sure how much fender rebuild you're talking about.
Nice build by the way.
BIG DUB 03-14-2006, 07:26 PM Any chance to bumpstop the front uptravel and save the turning radius??? Not sure how much fender rebuild you're talking about.
Nice build by the way.
My bumpstops are about perfect. Its just the kingpin inclination angle that when turned the tire goes up into the front part of the wheelwell. The actual mount of the fender is there so I can't really do anything about it. I had to move the diff forward so far to avoid the firewall. Catch 22. I can readjust my steering stops which might mean rubbin' some sheetmetal at stuff and lock. I figure it would be slow tire spin anyway so it might not hurt anything. (I hope).
ANLPROB 03-19-2006, 08:29 AM Hey buddy,
Lets go play in the snow today... its freakin deep now!!
