I searched the archives but didn't find much. Click on the pic for the link to the ebay auction:

I know you get what you pay for but does anyone have direct experience with these trailers? I am not go to do any cross country towing and it might be nice to have a utility style trailer rather than a straigh car hauler.

I figure I can get the wider version (82" between the fenders) with brakes on both axles for about $950 each If I buy four at a time. I know of three others in my local club that are interested so it would be worth it to drive from PA to MO to get them.

Thanks!

I'd rather have something a little beefier, but overall they're decent. The main frame rails are channel and everything else is angle. I've pulled their 18+4 tilts, 18' dovetails, and straight 16 footers. They all tow well and seem to be worth the price. I highly recommend getting new tires and brakes on both axles.

Oh yeah, pulling 4 trailers from MO to CO with a crosswind sucks balls.

I have one of their 18' dovetails. Not a heavy duty trailer but for a jeep or lighter rig they are great. The tires are junkyard specials i wouldn't drive that far home on them.

Like i said they aren't heavy duty by any means first day a buddy had one he banana'd it by loading a 1 ton dodge on 44's on it.

But bring ca$h..... they don't take checks and they don't take credit cards. Food is really good though and the last time I was there, the chick carrying around the molasses bucket was hawt!!!

Now returning you to your regularly scheduled trailer delivery thread.

I lived close to Sikeston years back and that's where I got my trailer.

There's one road where all the trailer manufacturer's are, probably 5-6 of them, all the same. maybe different pinstripping or slight differences.

My trailer was like $650 like 5 years ago, 16 ft flatbed. Everything else similar was ~1100 at the time. But for 650 I didn't get ramps, wheels, tires, brakes, lights, jack, maybe not even a hitch. They advertise them that way because they mostly sell to dealers and the dealers order them with what they want or install themselves. All said and done I was at ~1000 with used tires and that was 5 years ago. They are quality trailers but it'll add up to get them rolling right.

Plus they put one coat of paint on it when assembled, tires wheels and all. Not very good. They DONT paint the underside, new trailers with have rust on them. I paid extra to have it painted just the frame both sides and then again fully assembled.

4 guy's in our local club here in Arizona bought some. For a lighter rig they work fine, we all use Zuk's here ... and they are great for our uses.

I bought a used one with 4 wheel brakes from a friend....pulled and stopped really nice with my 4500# trail rig on it. The dude I sold it to loves it. You can do far worse on an economy utility trailer than those.

I bought a car hauler from tim at wholesale trailers about 10 months ago, and i have been pleased with it. If you get one with used tires you'll proabably have to replace them immediately though.
The only thing that concerns me about the trailers you posted is the axles *might be mounted a little bit further back than they are on a stardard car hauler, which might give you too much tongue weight.
it's hard to tell for sure from the pic

Here is the one i bought.

I would be willing to drag them to Colorado end of March if you pay my fuel. Nevermind, you are east of MO. I just assumed that you were in CA or something as most people are on the board.

BTT for the weekday crew!

Thanks for all the replies so far - I think I'll call him and try to finalize the deal. I agree with the possible rearward axle positioning. Looks more like 70-30 rather than the generally accepted 60-40. Can anyone comment on this?

One last question: none of the pictures in the ebay add show the emergency break away safety brake on the tongue. For those of you who have bought one of these, does it come with this and the required battery?

It only comes with brakes on the rear axle and two cheap brake lights, and a cheap tongue jack, nothing else.

After I bought mine- I rewired the entire thing with all LED lights, added brakes to the front axle, added a breakaway box, replaced the jack with a 7k jack, replaced the coupler with a 2-5/16 bulldog, added d-rings and replaced all the tires.

It still came out cheaper than buying locally with all the stuff I wanted on there. I've been pleased with the trailer, tows nice with a 6k lb rig on there.

I think there are literally dozens of trailer manufacturers in Sikeston. They're all competing big time, obviously, so I'm sure you can still find very cheap trailers there.
