I’m running a 77CJ with full width 74 Ford High Pinion Dana 44 with SOA on HD CJ springs (Read 2” lift). Moved the axle about 4” forward.

First the idea.

I hate to ask, but before I run them.

Anyone see any flaws in my set up?

You mean besides dragging them over rocks?

I personally think they hang down to low, Your approch angles will be all screwed up

Do a search, theres lots of pages on this topic.

I think they look remarkably like the MORE bolt on kit that I've got in my garage.

However, I kinda agree with Steve.

run longer springs and redrill the main leaf to relocat e the frons axle even further forward.

Doing this will help out the approach angle issue that Piazza mentioned.
You will need to move the steering box forward too.

What about a cross brace? think the C channel wwill hold?

Thanks for your help guys (yes I did search but these are a little different. )

Do you have any pics of the other end of the spring? the shackle end, in the center of the Jeep.

Has any one seen a shackle reversal with out board-frame hangers and buggy springs? like the MORE kit.

I'm planning on just that, a small 3/4 eleptical for the front.
I figure a solid frame mount around the motor mount area. I'll post pics when I get it mocked up.

Minnesota has Rocks! Just have to look for them for a while.

High5 Yep I need some gussets. That pic was taken right after I threw my junk together to move to my new house. Got moved in ad now it's all back down to the frame rails :D

Squirrel yes I have seen an out boarded M.O.R.E shackle reversal and buggy spring kit. I was a dumb ass and bought the kit before I realized I could make all that kind of crap myself.

So whats a guy do... He takes the parts from the kit he can use and he adapts the kit outboard the frame rails to make it work with my Cherokee Chief dana 44 :D
Then my fab skills improved again and then I decided that I could make the outboars buggy leaf part way better then I had originally done. working on that at the moment along with my cross member.

I think it looks pretty good. I would probably run a tube brace between the two mounts less than an inch from the top of the bolt or gussets that go to the bottom of the inside of the mount up to the c channel you installed. I am not trying to be overly critical but are you using a 120v wirefeed on that frame? If it is an arc welder than turn it up to 135a or buy some dry fresh rod. I may be way off here but the welds look strange to me. Sorry if I am wrong on the welder comment, and I like the design.

Damn woman didnt log off. I am Wheelinjp so you know

Not to dog on your junk or anything but those look like they're going to be catching rocks. I like your design but I'd make them shorter (closer to the frame). that's what fabing your own stuff is all about!

I did have it planned in the drawing, just didn't do it yet.

Used a HUGE arc welder. Ground the thick plate in a ways on the edges, chamfered. What your looking at is the third or forth pass on the front. I was lucky enough to have a professional welder help me, with new rods.

Thanks for the input guys.
