My 40 finally after 10 years of argueing with my wife to let me have money is going to the fab mans to install some very needed equipment. I have a turbo 350 and a 205 with a 60 rear and a 44 front(for now)with spring over. Was wondering if someone out there has possibly put a turbo 350 & 205 in a fj40 and how it works. Good or Bad? I would really be gratefull for any help, been looking on the web for years for someone who has done it cant find any, seen in a mag once someone had a green 40 with this very stuff but have lost mag. Thanks in advance.

there are a few 40s running around with that setup.
the best helpful hints i can give you is to mount the engine as far forward as possible since the rear driveshaft will be the limiting factor in this entire running grear. you might want to puch back your rear axle some as well to gain a litte more rear driveshaft length.

besides that, it's really not that big a deal.

good luck newbie!!!!:flipoff2:

thanks I dropped it off today to begin work I was expressing to the fab man that I would more than likely use a tarous fan and I thought that would let me move things forward a little but would try to find out if the electric fan would give us extra room. If you have a measurement of the fan I would be grateful thanks

check travis's thread.. look about halfway down for a pic of his SBC/th350/NP203 install sitting in the bare frame. pm him for more pics. i know he has more done to it just hasent updated his thread.. im sure he'll chime in soon anyway... (if he ever wanders out of chit-chat :flipoff2:
) you should have a little more rear driveline with the 205 because its shorter than the 203..

start a buildup thread on yours.. keeps you motivated and the insight offerd sometimes can save you alot of money if you go a way that someone else has tried and didnt work..

Hi
I'am also a newbie here in this forum...:)

I'm planning to change my FJ40's engine (6 cyl, F) to diesel engine...
What would be the appropriate Toyota diesel engine that would match my 3 speed mannual transmission?

Thank you very much :)

welcome newbie. judging by your username i'm gonna have to go out on a limb and assume that you're japanese. are you in japan? if no, then what's your location?

I'm not a Japanese...

I live now in the Philippines.

BTW I need your opinions, since I'm planning to replace the engine of my FJ40 into diesel.
Is it ok to modify my FJ40 (except the engine)into street style or not?:)

Thanks
