I think gearing options for the 50 are kinda limited, but i wouldnt swear to it.

It is worth getting if it isn't to burned up. The have gears for them up to 4.88 at this time but the locker choices are slim still.

8 on 170mm lug pattern will limit wheel choices
gears and lockers are the same as a HP-44

Is it a TTB front or a solid axle front?

Don't the 50's use the 332x 60-sized u-joint? If the OD on the tubing is 3" or so, then you might be able to graft those outers on a standard 44 (if the 50 is the TTB), then run normal 60 outers if the wheel pattern is all farked up. Then weld and redrill the rear (FF, right?), and voila! Instant light beef!
Even if the OD on the front tubing is not right, you could probably sleeve with some DOM and create enough diameter for the 60 U joints, although that might be a moot issue now that CTM's are apparently bombproof. BUT, you still deal with the relatively weak 44 outers..
Wait, does the 50 use kingpins or balljoints?

If this is a super duty style 50 they are ball joint, they use the 60 size ujoints, they have a 9" ring gear so 44 stuff does not work, and they do have the 170mm pattern so you would need to change that to 6.5" if you wanted to use some wheels you might already have.

Well if you were going to use the rear as well, then you wont have to worry about the bolt pattern on the wheels. I would take the wheels as well just in case, the way you cam use those wheels if you want to.

I want to use th 50 front and take the tubes of the rear FF 70 from the truck and put them on to my 82 ford 35 spline SF 60. lug pattern will match...and the tube size of the 70 should fit the my 60 housing since its not a -2 right??

Are you sure it's a Dana 70 rear in this truck? Ford uses Sterling rear axles in the Superduty trucks.
I belive the Super duty 250 and the single rear wheel 350 use Sterling rear and 50 front. I think the dually 350 uses the 60 front and 70 rear. There are a few 2002 single rear wheel 350's with 60 fronts around, but they are rare.

ALL US built 2002 Super Duties (F250-350) have D60 fronts, some early '02 Mexican trucks will still have a D50. SRW F250's and F350's have a Sterling 10.5"/10.25" rear. All '99-'01 F350 DRW have a D70 rear and D60 front. For gearing choices you have 3:73 (stock diesel & gas), 4:10 (optional gas), 4:30 (optional gas), 4:56, 5:13. The bolt pattern is 8x170mm with hub-centric wheels, you can however now get some steel Daytona's in 16x8 and 16x10 or go with custom wheels. One problem that I have run into with my Superduty is that all of the steering gear is Superduty specific, all of the TRE's are a new larger size.
