I lost the radio / door locks / inside lights yesterday so I'm now trying to figure out which fuse to replace. Haven't played in the fuse box of a vehicle since I dont' know when.
I've got it down to 2 but I dont' know wtf the "body Control Module" is and I can't find mention of it elsewhere in the manual.
And another idiot question.....the Cluster is the dash lights
It's been a looooooooooooooooong time since I've done vehicle tech unsupervised LOL.
:mad3: whatever went out also means I CANNOT open the back hatch at all....#%&U)#%* Chrysler design. I had to lug 50lbs of chicken thru over the back seat. I'm on disability for my back so I was NOT happy.
Thanks

if you lost the radio, the fuse should be somewhere inside the jeep, fuses in the engine compartment are usally higher amperage/relays. try to find your fuse panel, inside the panel should list what fuse does what. your problay looking for a 10amp (red) fuse.

That far I got..... it was btwn 2 fuses but I didn't know how to trouble shoot the Body Control Mod or the CMT...soemthing, I left the manual in the jeep.
:bounce: but I foudn the bad one. I pulled what I thought was the one and one that I knew to be good and compared and now I know what a bad fuse looks like
now I'm off to the parts store :D it was a blue 15 that is blown....but shoot. Do I need to check for more blown one or am I good to go? NOTHING in the manual says anything about the back hatch not opening. Guess Ill find that out out at the parts store.
Thanks for the input.

My Haynes manual for the Liberty shows the body control module in the wiring diagrams for wipers (front and rear) the flip up glass, power locks, and tailgate. Did you get something jamed in a window or something? Something was drawing too many amps. My guess would be one of the motors for the power window, or the back glass. Check Fuse #6 20 Amp Yellow (Power Control Module/PowerDoorLocks) and I assume the 15 amp blown fuse you found was the #17 Rear Wiper?
The tailgate wouldn't unlock with the key? Hmmm that sucks I'll keep that in mind if the powerlocks go out...

:mad3: no the tailgate will NOT open with the key...stoooooopid fawking design IMHO.
it's a short :( Replaced the fuse and I had music for 2 blocks till the sun got in my eyes. I moved the visor and out when the lights...radio ect :mad3:
HOW do I disconnect the vanity mirror lights?? I've had the vehicle 4ys, yes new and under warranty but I HATE warranty work with the dealerships, and NEVER have used the vanity mirror lights. In fact I've used the vanity mirrors maybe 10x???...I don't care if they work or not.
any advice on how to disconect just that one wire? I overuse the visor, I hate the sun, so it's kinda hanging by one screw so it does wobble a bit.
Is it safe (remember it's ME we are talking about here) to tighten up the screw or just not use the visor and let it be that way????
edit: the windows still work, but i didn't check the wipers. Good thing it's sunny LOL
update: I went back and got 5 more fuses, tightened the visor and am TRYING not to move it. So hopefully I don't burn it down or blow soemthing up.
