Does any one know when the price is going to drop on these? Any where selling them at a decent rate now? I also heard BFG is going to release a 37-12.50-15 mud ta? Any truth to this?

Thanks

I called discounttire.com and they said they can't obtain tires that large......

yes they can, they just don't like to lift them.... and i don't blame them. they can get 44 inch boggers if they want, and they could even mount them, and they will if they like you.

I think that price isn't going to last. They list the 35x12.5R15 MTR at $182. Bet someone at corporate screwed up. Next best price I've found is $190.

My 37"s should be in today. :)

Anyone have an idea how tuff the sidewalls are on these? I know an SX is tougher (All that weight has to be somewhere), but I was thinking of the 38 x12.50 bias TSLs to keep the weight down a bit....

Toughness:

1. SX
2. MTR

Disclaimer: I have not run these tires. This is from many hours of reading this board and other 4x4 info. If you do a search they discussed it in one of the very recent posts, I just dont know which one.

Which is why you get them through Discount Tire with road hazard... they told me they'd cover damage no matter how bad (or how I caused it)

For me this is the crucial issue:

I am going to go with either the plain 38" TSL or the 37" MTR. I really would like to know that I won't kill a tire with a stick or root. and I want a 36" plus rolling diameter so that my truck stays semi streetable (to & from the trails)

Such restraint, you didn't mention the forbidden word, "G....B.."

Or are you just overwhelmed?

I have no idea about where the TSL stands. I know they are not as tough as an SX but rank up there. Have you ran TSL's and MTR's ?

If you decide to go with a Swamper (which you SHOULD!!!), let me know and I'll get you a price. I can also get Swamper BLEMS!! A BLEM is a tire with a cosmetic 'blemish' so they can't sell them as NEW 'PERFECT' tires. Nothing is functionally wrong with the tire and it is fully covered by the manufacturer. Most of us do functional damage (ripping off lugs, gashes in the sides, etc.) to our tires on the first run, so getting BLEMs (IF they are available) in my opinion is a no brainer...
