A friend of mine just bought a sami and wanted to make it more trail worthy by welding the rear diff, me and all my toyota buddys thought it would be easy, when we took it all apart the carrier was nothing like a toyota but closed like a detroit. How would you go about welding it?

i have never seen it done but have heard of it, apparntly you have to pull the carrier right down weld it and put it back together.

not much help am i.

There's about 6 or 8 12mm bolts on the side. Remove bolts, tap with hammer and presto...access to the side and spider gears.
