What are the weights for each, and how much torque does the 1.6L gain? I am trying to stay really light, so is the 1.6L worth it?
Also, are the T-Cases in the Sidekicks divorced like the Sami, or do I need to look strictly for a 2wd(I want a divorced case)?

The 1.6 is heavier, but I don't know by how much, they are both really light compared to damn near anything else. 1.6 4X4's come with a married t/c, but if you by a cheap adapter plate you can run a sami tranny behind a 1.6, which is what most people do.

I put a 2wd tracker tranny behind my 1.6, really like it. Everything is bigger, bearings, shafts, gears and esp. the flywheel. You will need to shorten your intermediate shaft, or buy a modified one from hawk suzuki. Also redrill or reweld the pass side motor mount, and get a cheap elec fuel pump...Everything else will bolt up (so long as its an 8v)...Redrill the crossmember for the tranny and go!

flywheel weight is very nice for crawling
my poor bathroom scale shows aprox 8to10 difference

How about the gearing; do you know the ratios?
