Has anyone used a painless wiring harness (60201) for a GM TBI convertion? Reason I ask is because I dont really like the idea of installing a used harness for a FI project.

Are there any differences of this one and a stock GM harness? Extra labels? Markings? Quality? Also it says on the page for the harness

"required parts: speed sensor" I thought that was optional?

and BillUSN1 says:

For the fuel only conversion you will retain your stock distributor but will need a special filter to run between your ignition and the computer.

What is this special filter? Part number? Name?

4. Temp sender-CTS pull from donor or buy new. <---- Part #? anyone know?

If you've got electronic ignition you can run it but need a "Tach Filter". It has nothing to do with your tachometer, it is just a way to clean up the electrical signal from your ignition so the ECM can read it properly. The AFI harness can be ordered with or without the filter or for any distributor you have.

The Coolant Temp. Sensor is cheap at about $10-$15. but could be a JY part. Grab the MAP sensor from the JY for sure as they are 2-3 times that. About the only part that really goes bad or wears out is the O2 sensor so buy that new, about $25. If your following Bill usn-1 EFI tips for a 1227747 system you can order the parts for a 1990 Chevy 5.7L 1500 will work.
