So now is the time to upgrade to a link suspension along with moving the axle ahead 3" MAX. I was thinking of leaving the upper coil towers alone and making offset buckets on the axle. I plan on also moving the steering box and building a longer panhard bar at the same time. Im sure its been done but i searched and cant find any pics. I was planning on doing a parallel 3 link with 36" or longer lower links. I will be re-using the current 5.5" WH coils and rancho 5012 shocks. This truck is street driven so it needs to handle somewhat well. Is this a good plan or do i need to re-think all this?

Any help would be appreciated.

I have done this on my rig. It is easier to move the spring buckets forward. Of course mine had not front inner clip but a frame made to hold the fenders and grill, so it was easier to get access to the welds on the back of the buckets. You can also locate the weld and grind from inside the bucket. This will leave you with a long open slot in the back of the bucket where you ground through. Use this slot to weld through and onto the frame when ou move it forward. A front 3 link in a Bronco handles real bad on the road. It is real easy to parallel 4 link with a pan hard bar.

I dont have the inner clip either, just tube supports. I dont see why it would be any harder to just offset the coils on the axle?? I have to build all new mounts anyways. i have seen pics of your truck before and it looks really good, but i want to run longer, flatter links, and i dont think i can run the upper links like you unless i swap to shorty headers. I think the clutch linkage will also interfere. Some pics of your upper mounting points would help alot. I agree that a 3 link would be worse on the street, but if the upper was close to the middle of the diff, would it cancel out alot of the jacking i got with my old wristed setup? I know there is LOTS of room for improvement over the wristed setup.

Search for the EB Sceep and his dad built, IIRC they moved the front forward and he always puts up tons of pictures.
