Here is the front winch plate for my project truck that I cobbled together.

I started out with I-beam that was 1/2" thick on the ends and a little thicker in the middle and as wide as the outside to outside of the frame rails.

Then I cut off the back vertical part of the I-beam (I'm sure that part has a name) and kind of notched it to clear the radiator.

Here is that back piece ready to be welded to the top of the front vertical piece. You can see the control box mounted to the radiator support behind the grill. The cable plug lines up perfectly in a slot of the SSII insert.

I also cut holes and welded in sections of receiver hitch to hold shackles, use the HiLift jack, etc. There is also a whole to plug in the quick disconnect jumper cables. There will be one more for the air line. The bottom lip is also cut off at this point.

Making it look nice.

More or less finished.

I let a friend borrow it for our IH Round-up last year, since my project truck wasn't finished.

It mounts using the large hole through the frame about 7" back from the front down the frame rail and using the stock bumper hole locations.

1/2" That part won't fail, your frame will give out first. I noticed to were FS and then switch to RS, was this because of the extra weight? Did you upgraded your springs and decided to go RS at the same time? At some point I will put a winch on too, but thats an extra 200 pounds I really don't need up there. I like those receiver hitches you added to attch those Warn clevis's. Oh ditch the hook on the cable line for another clevis:smokin:
