Does a spool in a dana 44 replace the carrier??

Yep, in order for the ring gear to be solidly mounted to the axle shafts so that they spin at the same time, it has to replace it.

I am feeling nice today, so I guess i will give you the answer that would be so simple to find by using the search :rolleyes:

A Full spool replaces the carrier, and requires a new setup.

A mini spool replaces the spider gears only, and doesnt require a new setup
