I just got done tonight. I put Ford F150 springs on the rear of my 79' Toy. and moved the old rear springs to the front. which relocated my front axle Two inches forward. So me and my friend Had a small flex contest. his truck is a 84" with rear dodge durango springs and wagoneers up Front.

Here are the Pic. Sorry they were taking at night.Flex pic. (http://www.Centralhouse.net/erics4x4/truck.htm)

Skeytone, I dont think your gonna be satisfied with a leaf spring setup. You worry to much about them. Just go ahead and build you a 1/4 eliptical and save some time.

As for the F150 springs and durangos, neato!

Were the old rear springs you moved to the front lift springs or stock? Which of the leaves did you keep? I'm thinking of using my old rear leafs too, just trying to get an idea of how much to play with it to start with.

not really needing to go freakishly flexy on the next project. Just like the convienice of different springs in the rear. And as always I run a J-yard budget. 1/4 = $$/$$ even J-yard fabbed. Just show some pix man :flipoff2:

I thought i was the only one who used Dodge Durango springs on the rear. I mixed them in with some Mazda's about 2 years ago. I love em. Plus from the partsyard they are already sagged.

I was just walking through the parts yard with a tape measure and measuring everything in sight. The Durango's are slightly wider but not significantly wider. Still fits in with the Mazda pack fine.

I have since thrown in a hole hodgepodge of springs to limit axle wrap. My rear spring pack is fugly now...but they work!
I'll see if i can find a pic.

OK Sorry about no rear pic. I will take some soon. As for the front I'm very happy about the result of the spring setup. The rear springs came of a 2000 Ford f150 2x4 the are about 57" long. I did not change any leafs. As for the front I took the old rear leafs and removed the over load leaf and one of the short leafs. I had to use the rear angle shims in order to keep a good pinion angle
with this setup my front axle sets two inches further than stock so my current stock steering does no work. So I explaned this to my wife and told her that I had to go to hy-steer :D :D .
