Installed TBI on my 4.3 this weekend. Now I need to wire up the new alt, Serptine type, from a 91 4.3. I had the old single stlye chevy alt on there before.

Anyhow... The new alt has 2 wires coming out of the plug. A brown wire and a pink w/black stripe. What do these hook too?

I had a old style alt on the 4.3 previously with the plug that has the big red wire and then a smaller brownish/black wire.

I'm thinking that the New pink/black go to the old bigred and the new brown goes to the brownish black?

Any takers?

The GM alternator (internally regulated) that came with the new engine was used and was spliced into part of the original Toyota wiring, A new 8 gauge wire was run from the B+ terminal of the alternator directly to the positive battery post. The case of the alternator was grounded using the original black Toyota wire. Terminal 1 and 2 on the alternator were tied to the white (+) and
yellow (charge) wires in the Toyota harness.

This came from Jay's site, but I am not sure on the terminal 1&2. My plug has letters like LFSP, or something in that order.

Got off my lazy ass and did a search....

On the Chevy alternator harness, pink/blk (F-field) goes to switched
ignition and the brown wire (L) goes to the voltmeter/charge light circuit.
On the Toy harness, red is the switched ignition and yellow is the charge indicator.
