I did a search but couldnt find!

Found a front 60 for my truck but wanted to keep the rear 9inch. Cost too much to change front to 5 on 5.5 so I was wondering what alternatives I have. Is there a way to swap the rear to an 8 lug setup and keep the 9inch??

In our dreams??? Certainly would be cheeper than going 5 up front on the 60. Would probably be less expensive even if you had blanks drilled at a machine shop for 8 lug???? I looked a little and found nothing.

You may find 2" spacer that converts???

Nobody makes a blank that is big enough for the 8 lug, you would have to run an adapter :puke:

Welndmn on this bb built a 5 on 5.5 D60 for his EB. I don't remember it being that expensive. I'll pm him a link here so he can share his experience with you.

I made money making my 60 5 lug.
Sold the 60 calipers and rotors.
the 5 lug stuff is cheap, you just have to find someone to turn your wheel hubs down.

Or, you could do a D60/9" FF hybrid rear and have a much stronger axle, your 9" chunk, and 8-lug wheels f/r.

you might be able to use sterling 10.25 shafts in a 9"
Just cut the C-clip button off the end, and press on a bearing.. and cut possibly cut them down to length. (probably not that simple, but I don't imagine it being thhaaaattt difficult)

Im currently building a 8 lug FF 9" rear end, but im starting with a custom Spidertrax Spider 9 housing, using aftermarket spindles, and 14b hubs and custom flanged FF factory style shafts. It will match my 8 lug D44/9" hybrid front end. It should be done beingt built in the next 3 weeks or so. I dont know how well the weld on spindles would do with a factory style housing though. I was originally going to use sterling shafts(havent seen any c clip ones though-I had some from a F250 and F350-for sale BTW, no c clip, just different lengths) but the flange bolt patter was bigger than the GM hubs and they have an o-ring behind the flange rather than a gasket so they dont fit. The reason Im using the GM hubs is because the inner bearing journal is supposed to be the same as that on the rockcrusher spindles and I didnt want locking hubs in the rear.

A buddy of mine had a set of 5 on 5.5" to 8 on 6.5" adapters made, and wound up being able to use 6 or 7 of the 8 lugs. The final lug(s) interfered with one of the original 5, so they omitted it and ran it with 6 or 7 studs. It has been used in competition now for 2 or 3 years like that without issues.

You could also weld 14 bolt or D60 spindles onto the housing and run the 8 lug outers from them, as other guys have mentioned earlier in this thread.
