All you guys that are running a 4.3, have you modded it, i.e cam, intake, headers, etc... OR just leave it stock. I just got mine (TBI), and it is sitting in the garage, seems like a good time to make any changes before it is in the rig...

I put a set of shorty headers on because I couldn't make the sotck manifolds work... I am runnig a CPI version of the 4.3

98 smpi with only computer mods. I even got stock size exhaust on it. runs real good.

What is the lb rating on the injectors? 14, 19, 24?


I ask because I am putting together an MPI setup for my 90 TBI and have calculated it to be 24lb injectors that will be needed.

Stock injectors. I have no idea what pressure.

guessing 215 hp.

it runs great and has loads of torque.

fyi if you get the edelbrock mainafold it come with a free chip.

oh ya i am also running an msd iginition.

well,,,,i have a 4.3 out of a 89 S10 i put a 350 in. i dropped the 4.3 in my zuk. i ditched the tbi and put on a elderbrock 4bbl manifold.since i was running short on cash,,i used a 2bbl to 4bbl adapter and used a motorcraft carb that i had on my old cherokee. i got a set of factory hedders off a 86 chevy montecarlo. since the engine is already a roller engine,,that helps. from what the guys at the machine shop tell me,,,i have about 240 hp. i use an electric fan,,but run my alternator and compressor for my OBA. so that would drop the hp down some
