I am putting a RC60 in the rear of my EB so I need to change the ends over to rear spindles.
I have both the 60 and a 70. The od of the 60 tubing is 3.125 and the 70 is 3.5 od and 2.5 id.
I was thinking I could press out the tubes on the 60 and turn down the tubes on the 70 to 3.125 and press them into the 60 housing. I'd plug weld it and then weld around the tubing to the housing. The thickness of the tubing where it is pressed in would still be .3125 so I figure it will be fine.
I've read the post about cutting the spindles off the 70, turning them down, pressing them back onto the 60 tubing and adding a new section of tubing with a sleve to extend the short side. That seems like a lot more work. This way I won't have to buy any expensive axle tubing.
What do you guys think?
