I lost the far left dash light and all four left needles on my F-250 powerstroke recently. I tried to get to the light and realized what a pain it is... having to take out the entire instrument cluster to get to it! My truck is a 96, old body style, has anyone had to replace these? Why are those needles also out? Are those needles just bulbs or are they a more expensive serious wiring short possibly? The guages still work, which is why i'm think bulbs, but i'd thought i'd ask first. Hopefully someone who really knows can put my mind at ease and tell me what goings on with my truck's dash lights! Any help from someone with similar stories would be much appreciated.

the needles are lit indirectly from bulbs in the back through clear plastic.

if you've lost a whole area you prob have a poor connection somwhwere.

yes the guage cluster is a PITA to get out but once you've done it it's not too bad if you ever need to repeat it.

f you are going to replace the bulbs replace them all so you only have to pull it apart once.
