I plan on swapping out the 3 speed in my 66 and I've heard of being able to pull the NP435 out of other cars that will bolt right up. I believe there are 2 different bolt patterns on these. Which one works for the EB's and what cars can I find these in? Thanks

You need to get the NP435 out of a two wheel drive Ford truck. It needs to have a 28 spline output shaft. You will cut the threads of the output shaft and buy an adapter from one of the many EB part houses. It will bolt right back into stock location.

It will be an inch longer than your stock 3 speed setup, Which shouldn't be a problem other than it weighs about 140 pounds.

well you can find one bolted up to a small block 67-83 150/250/350.. must have a 28 spline output shaft...
mine was bolted up to a 76 f250 long bed with a 390 infront of it (big block). you can find them this way but rare.. also a married t case (adapter connecting the tranny and tcase) is the best one to find but i broke the rule on that one.. mine was bloted up to a big block and a divorced t case... all you have to do is take a cutting wheel and knock off the smaller spline that the ujoint connects to...
and adapter will cost you from 400 to 650.. but bronco graveyard would be the best .. $400 and you get 80 back for your old one..
o ya a body lift will help putting it in w/o cutting a big ass holoe in the tranny hump... body lifts on an eb kick ass.. gives you tons more room to work and you dont have to cutt the wheel wells so high
if you have any ?'s on putting it in PM me and ill give you my number.. it took me about a day to take it out /paint / and intall... fun project
Thanks a ton. I have a 2" body lift on at the moment and I agree, It does give me a ton of room. I'll send you a pm if I need any other help.

Get a 4wd one with a 205 hanging off of it and swap the whole thing in. You bypass the need for the high dollar adapter and get an uber-bulletproof case all in one swap.

I've got that whole setup sitting at my house right now...and yes it's taking up room.
