I have a 1997 Ford F-150 4x4 that currently has a 3" body lift. I was wondering is there anything I can do that is a cheap inexpensive way to add an extra 2-3 inches on top of my body lift? Anyone here have any suggestions? Here's a pic of my truck with a 3" body lift and 35" tires. I want to go bigger!!

Wow, those are 35's. Doesn't look it. There isn't much you can do but add a leaf in the rear and crank your torsion bars. And the bad thing about the torsion bars is that you truck in a 97 and the bars have gotten weak. I have a 97 as well and know. And then that may only give you around 1.5 inches, maybe 2 if lucky. But I doubt that with some old torsion bars. And then you would need an alignment. I would just drop the money an a 6in lift, than take the body lift off. Thats what I ended up doing.

I'm not sure I agree on a solid axle swap being cheaper than a ifs lift. The most you you'll pay for a regular kit would be 1500.
Rancho Fab Tech Pro Comp Superlift Skyjacker RCD, there are a couple of other smaller names out there.

With an SAS, you would first need the "SA". Dana 44, or 60 for the norm. And your not going to get a good one with good brakes, axle and ujoints for less than a grand. Yes you can find an old 44 out there for 500 bucks, but I wouldn't put all those old components under my truck without replacing them. And a 60, damn their expensive. Then is it links, radius arms, or leafs? If you do the lift yourself, you can get away with under 1500 for an IFS. Hell, I found my never used Fabtech in black for 1250 of another guy.
