Very basic question but just how much stronger is the Corp 8.25 vs the Dana 35 rear axle on a Cherokee? Will be running 33" tires with either 4.10 or 4.56 gears so I need to know if either will handle that ok.

Well,

I only wheel moderate to semi-challenging trails since my bud has a lifted 2001 Taco. We hit some occasional 1.5 foot steps, some deep ruts, nothing too major.

There is a Cherokee for sale in a neighbor state that is a 96 with 4.56 gears and the Dana 35, OX lockers front and rear, TW drive shaft and SYE, but only has a 3" Rough Country lift. I know I would have to trim and I don't mind that at all but I want 33" tires. Don't want to really get into body lifts or spring pucks either. I actually prefer the lower profile but trimming more rather then lifting super high and no trimming.

I think he was asking $4500.00 but has 150K miles

I'm running 35" tires, 4.56 gears with an ARB locker on my 8.25 in a 2001 XJ. Two years now, no problems yet. I don't drive it any harder than I have to though.

Sierra,

how high is your lift and did you trim at all. I'm going to need help with my trimming and not sure how much, how to cut and so forth. I want a smooth line, I've seen some real butcher jobs and you can tell the guy had a shaky hand............lol
