Easy Rick 02-15-2006, 09:19 PM Hey rick you get a chance to look at my shitbox cherokee..
Yes, and I am afraid the prognosis is not good, I can't find a straight piece of anything on that rig!!:D So where should I start my measurements? Anyway don't tell Justin but it got worked on today when I lost my temper w/ the sliderz!!:mad3: The brake lines are fixed and somewhat relocated, and all is bled back off. The sliderz and I needed a little alone time if you know what I mean? Anyway that was all you get as the sliderz and I made up shortly there after and we are playing nicely again.:smokin:
I can see from this thread though that some people are not going to play nicely!!!:shaking: Later fellas....
Easy Rick.
AZDude 02-17-2006, 05:20 PM Should have pics of finished sliders posted shortly!!!
Easy Rick 02-17-2006, 06:42 PM Needs more triangulation!!! I've always wanted to say that!:smokin:
Easy Rick.
tacoma73 02-18-2006, 01:02 AM damnit! I was going to say that! "sliders need more triangulation" ahahaha
That is a freakin' slick cage idea there. I like that.
Truck is looking very nice, love the motor...
AZDude 02-18-2006, 08:55 AM LOL! Shoulda named ya SLICK RICK:cool2:
lebowski 02-18-2006, 10:48 AM WOOOOOOOOOWWWWW........no rust. That's like a fairy tale around these parts. Nice.
Starting on the rear bumper....
looking good so far..There is still lots to do on this bumper...it will wrap around the bed for protection and tie into the tire carrier in the bed!
Easy Rick 02-18-2006, 08:55 PM Those fenders look a little long does anyone mind if I trim'em up a bit?
How about a little plating on the face of that bumper? Any thoughts?
Tell us what you think it needs?
If I might hijack the thread for a moment.
Thanx,
Easy Rick.
Easy Rick 02-18-2006, 08:56 PM AzFj you forgot a top view?

American 02-19-2006, 11:02 AM Holy shit. That is a clean ass truck. I like that shit way too much. All the fab is pretty, stylish, and understated; just how I like it. I hate the freezing ass cold, I want to build my fucking truck right now.
Nice job Rick. Nice rig AZ.

AZDude 02-19-2006, 03:32 PM Thanks for the compliments! I can't wait to put it to the test:smokin: I haven't heard from Rick all day hope everything went ok wheelin?
tacoma73 02-20-2006, 01:29 AM Those fenders look a little long does anyone mind if I trim'em up a bit?

That's about where I'm going to be trimming mine. I say chop em. :D
and for a suggestion, which I really doubt I need to give you: tie the sides into the frame or something.
AZDude 02-20-2006, 02:45 PM Yep we're gonna chop em! More bumper pics will be posted shortly.
Yep we're gonna chop em! More bumper pics will be posted shortly.
Here ya go
72blazer 02-20-2006, 05:35 PM looks good man. so you're running ~8" of total lift?
Easy Rick 02-20-2006, 05:43 PM Man do I suck as a photographer!!:barf: I have more pics of the fenders cut and the bed cage upper rails on. But you will have to wait since my parents borrowed my camera to put the motorhome they are selling in the paper. I should have it back tommorrow.
I really don't understand why I can not take good pics though. I can literaly stand back and say to myself now that looks good. Then snap a pic and look at that pic and say to myself that looks gay. Any insight into my predicament would be fantastic.
Later,
Easy Rick.
AZDude 02-20-2006, 06:49 PM Lol! My wife has the same problem she's not steady enuf with the camera and all of her pics come out fuzzy. Don' really know what to tell ya?
AZDude 02-20-2006, 06:56 PM Hey Rick, I was planning on coming down around 1 or 2 tomorrow afternoon. Will that work for you?
72Blazer that's correct I'm running 8" total lift.
BigRob 02-20-2006, 08:10 PM Killer rig bro and even more killer fab work!:cool2: No offense but I think Easy Rick could have [still can] build you a front bumper that goes with the flow of everything else more....Just my .02 cents though.. Its all good!:grinpimp:
AZDude 02-20-2006, 08:27 PM Ya your probably right about the bumper, but unfortunately I had ordered it prior to meeting Easy Rick. I do like all of the protection it provides in the front and I think once the rear bumper is tied into the bed cage it will all flow nicely:D
Easy Rick 02-20-2006, 08:27 PM Hey Rick, I was planning on coming down around 1 or 2 tomorrow afternoon. Will that work for you?
72Blazer that's correct I'm running 8" total lift.
Works for me. But it probably will not be all done by then so bring your work clothes!! Later,
Easy Rick.
AZDude 02-20-2006, 08:28 PM Sounds good to me I don't mind learning a little sumthin.
72blazer 02-21-2006, 09:04 AM sweet, i'm thinking of running 42" Iroks with 6" of lift and tapered fenders. how are those iroks working out for you? i'd like to run killer trails so i'm still debating on what tire to run. like your rock sliders & that shiney 14 bolt. :smokin:
AZDude 02-21-2006, 09:55 AM I love the IROK'S. The only downfall is I drive my truck on the pavement almost everyday and the compound is pretty soft so they're wearing a little faster than I would like. It probably also has to do with me steppn on the peddle a little too often, but I can't help it with that motor:smokin: I would still highly recommend them. I will be going to a 42" when these wear out.
Easy Rick 02-21-2006, 06:27 PM Lookin sweet! For you Riptide.

Well maybe I can rent it to you this weekend, but I have to make some real money, so I will have to charge by the Gallon rather than by the hour. Thats only if that slacker building it has it done by this weekend.:shaking:

Maybe? I have decided to pull off everything I built and paint it pink.:grinpimp: You know like a trademark color. But don't worry I got the quick drying schit.:D
The deal on the fuel is I am only gonna give him a gallon at a time and I will just walk behind him with two five gallon cans and a Verifone. I shouldn't have to walk very far!!!!:p.
Oh yeah the truck should be done tonight, the ol'lady left town today so I can stay out and finish it tonight.
Later,

Hope you're enjoying it bro, see you in a couple weeks!
just a couple shots I took today..not to bad:D
yep..its a big bitch..Action pics to come!
Easy Rick 02-26-2006, 07:49 AM Is it just me or does that front bumper look GINORMOUS on the front of that thing? Rob and I were talking and we came to a conclusion; J. wants to use the truck for hunting, but not in the conventional way? You see he is an avid moose hunter and is tired of lugging around a high powered rifle up and down mountains, through deep valleys, and across wide open meadows. His new approach will involve a 500cub sprinter to catch up to his prey, then that moose killin' bumper to seriuously injury his prey. Then he will jump out and finish the job with a spork. He says there is no extreme sport quite as tough as hunting moose with a spork.
The only draw back to this method is that the spork season is so short, and the lottery is so small for tags.
Good hunting,:)
Easy Rick.
AZDude 02-28-2006, 11:33 AM If your wondering why I haven't posted lately it's because i've been trying to think of something clever to say to that post. I then drove to a trail head to check out a waterfall and came to find out upon leaving that the reverse in my tranny decided to take a schit:mad3: So now I get to do it all over again, but this time I have the joy of pulling the tranny as well. I just couldn't ask for better luck:flipoff2:

Easy Rick 03-07-2006, 06:17 PM You may be one of the luckiest SOB's I know? You are getting it all fixed before you get on a trail! Now that is lucky.:smokin: Just a perspective change for ya. Easy Rick 03-07-2006, 07:22 PM Well to make things worse!!!!! If you added all those receipts up then subtracted the price of one of my turn key buggy's you would get a $0.25 refund.
