This is a huge purchase ($$$) so I want to get some input from the pros...you guys. What tire do you wheel and what do you recommend. My truck is NOT a daily driver, has stock running gear and gay mag wheels:D
So besides getting some steele wheels what tire do you recommend for rock (not a mudder) and overal longevity. Looking at something 35-38.5 inches.
Let me knowl, I got to get back to sweet talking the wife into why I need bigger meats:D ....for my truck:D

Hey Doc,
I just bought a set of 37" MTR's. I did not even hesitate, the 35's on my 40 worked awsome in the packed snow and the rocks during rubithon this past year.
If you feel so inclined, come awn over and play with the airgun and jack and you can take them for a test drive. The 37's might be a bit steep for 4.11's and a clutch.

MTRs are nice on a driver and for all around usage. IROKs are that much better.

I have had good luck with my IROCKs so far. I bent a rim on the rubicon last year and it didn't even scuff the tire, my old BFGs would have been gone. 17x36 bias ply.

Thanks for the input so far guys.
FJ40 with V8, TH350 Auto Tranny and stock axles. Its SOA with plenty of room. Its getting a new spring set with stock 40s in the front and 55 rears. (not that it matters for tire selection).
When you say MTR what brand is that (BFG??)?
Right now I can't put bigger tires on becuase the roll bar hits the garage door going in, and thats on 33s but I am moving in 5 months so it'll happen then...nothing like getting my "ducks in a row".
rockthedog- glen, what are you running right now???
Thanks again guys,

If you are looking for something to crawl with and drive around the streets with you should go MTR's. Great tire! :D

I just got some 37" MTR's, so far I like em. Quiet on the road and they are lighter than my 35" Trxus (interco) that I used to run.

37/14.5/15 Armstrong True Traks. Or a set of 38" Grand Prix's.

Dan,
I'm running the 37 inch MTRs on my 40 and like them allot. That said, Glen just pulled them off his 40 and went back to (I believe) 38.5 Swampers because he liked them better off road. personally, I like round tires!
My second choice would have been the IROKs if wear wasn't an issue.
