My brother has a 96 Ford F350 PSD. The brakelights are screwy. The rear two do not work but the one on the cab works. Where is the switch on these trucks to activate the brakelights? Is it the pressure switch on the front of the master cylinder? Has anyone ever had this problem? Where and what should I look for? Any help would be great. Thanks.

same switch activates all is on the brake pedal assy

the switch on the master is a safety switch for the cruise control

do any of the other tail lights work? if not there is a connector on the rear driver's side under the truck that has come unplugged. it's there to seperate the bed's wiring from the truck when you need to remove the truck bed.

It sounds like the multi function switch (turn signal switch) is bad. The 3rd brake light is on a seperate curcuit from the rear brake lights. From the switch the curcuit for the 3rd brake light goes directly to the light, where as the rear lights have to go through the multi function switch first, before going to the rear. If the 3rd light is working, that tells me the brake light switch is working. The next step is to test the multi function switch for your brake light signal comming in and going out.

Can you get these switches at Napa, Autozone, or Advanced Auto? Or is it a dealer item? Thanks.
