I've torn a hole in two different tcases. The 4-hole mounting extrusion for the long arm is what tore out on mine.

Its one of the reasons I developed the Beefy wraparound arm we manufacture now.

glenn was that befor or after the 44's,the ones you can bounce on till it works?I'm not talking bout your wheeling just trying to get a feel for how strong the actual case is.

yeah, i have been there before... stripped the 4 bolts and broke a part the size of 2 sugarcubes off the case...

i limped home with the īcase just hanging on the driverīs side part and a little branch i put into one of the 4 holes to allow to stay over the long arm

couldnīt get it out of 4low, as the shifter would twist the case under the sami ... got somebody to hold it to get back into 2hi .O)

that was with 31"s and a stock engine (gotta love the axlewrap)...

we put some 10lb of steel brace around it... and now it is fine again...

Yeah, I tore the 4 hole mount in its entirety off the side of the case. I had beefed mounts and the extra rear mount. Tore it all or twisted the crap outta it. I have an 8v 1.6, GRSII, and dana 44s with 5.38s and detroits going to 36s. I have decided to go with a ford 3.0 v6/5spd/d300 drivetrain, and am in the process of making a tailshaft for the ford 5spd.

if you used your regular beefy stock mounts than added a skidplate/tcase mount that runs under the case and bolts up to the frame rails. you could get 3 more bolts into the case and lessen the chance of tearing out the bolts all around. i just looked at it and where the stock skid bolts up there are 3 prime bolts just waiting to be used for this. not only would it give you a nice skid but it would add some major strength to mounting setup... but i bet grenading the case could become a very real possibility. i want to make me one of these plates now.

TT has a wrap around deal already

does it use the stock mounts as well though?

just looked at tt's. i'm talking about keeping the 2 mounts you already have and adding another that has tabs to bolt to the front of the case and then to the frame rails. so you would have 3 mounts holding the case in... and 11 bolts as opposed to the normal 8 in the case.

actually instead of just mounting to the the front you could mount it to the front and back of the case - around the bottom of the driveshaft flange. adding 6 extra bolts to your mounting setup. even tt's only uses the 8 original bolt holes to hold it in. see in the picture are the 3 bolts on the front, the back has the those bolts around the driveshaft flange that could be used. you would also have another mount attached to the frame unlike tt's which only uses the 3 original bolt mounts to attach it to the frame.

why i don't patent these killer ideas is beyond me. i think i'll make one this weekend. i needed a skidplate under the case anyways. might as well make it multifunctional
